Handsome handguns.......

O.K. folks have been talkin' about ugly handguns, let's talk about beauties in handguns. Base on looks alone, not caliber nor usefullness, but just the sheer beauty of line and form, maybe finish as well. Here's my list of all time beautiful handguns:

1. (Tie) Colt New Frontier 4 3/4" barrel and Ruger Flat Top Blackhawk 4 5/8" barrel

2. Colt Single Action Army Model 1873 (and clones) 4 3/4" barrel

3. Colt 1860 Army Model, unaltered.

4. Colt 1872 Open Top, 5 1/2" barrel.

5. Colt 1860 Army, Richards Mason Conversion

6. Colt Python, 4" barrel

7. S&W .357 Magnum, 3 1/2" barrel.

8. S&W Distinguished Combat Magnum, Model 586, 4" barrel

9. Colt Gold Cup .45 ACP

10. Colt Woodsman Match Target.

These I consider the best looking handguns of all time. No arguing, please, but what are yours? Looks only, remember.

I really like the S&W 27, think its a very regal (non bling) looking firearm.

Don't have a pic to post, but I really like the look of the fixed sight, older model (wood grips) Browning Hi-Power. PPK's not half bad.

Model 29-2.

But, I actually like the look/feel of the Model 24-3 (44 Special) better. The slightly shorter cylinder, and tapered barrel make a trimmer, better looking/handing gun IMHO.

As mentioned, the 3 1/2" Model 27-2 is hard to beat.

And what can you say about a Colt Python? Even in worn condition, they have a classic beauty about them.

And one more. Dan Wesson 22 LR.

Bob I have to agree with most of the guns on your list though I'd most likely put them in different order. The colt 1860 would be at the top.

I have to add the Colt 1851 Navy to Bob's list and the S&W Schofield but I'd have to take the Ruger and Python off.

The best looking piece I ever owned was a pre-war (1939 mfg.) N-frame S&W registered magnum, 5" blue. The royal blue, the hand checkered barrel rib and the sheer aesthetic balance of the 5" barrel were second to none. Sadly, the revolver was burglarized from my home while at work one day.

Pretty much any 4" K-frame S&W,,,

Pretty much any 4" K-frame S&W,,,
My Model 15 is one beautiful handgun,,,

There is just something truly elegant about it.

The only one that I consider prettier is the Model 19,,,

The shrouded ejector rod looks a wee bit more sophisticated.
