Handguns You Let Go Only To Get Them Back!

Nope, never had to get one back that I've sold. Just one of the reasons I can't bring myself to part with any of my collection.

I've only sold one handgun so far, a Taurus 24-7 Pro .45ACP. I kind of miss it, not because it was a great gun, but because it was the first handgun I had purchased. Never had a problem with it that I would attribute to anything but disliking certain ammo, but used it to trade in on a S&W 625MG. Atleast I think that's what it went towards; may have been my 1911. :o

Browning BDA .380 and Beretta 84 .380.

I got the Browning first then decided I'd prefer the Beretta so I traded, although I liked them both. Got the Browning back as a Christmas gift. Then traded it again toward a Kimber in .45 ACP.

The Beretta was later stolen, so I bought another one to replace it. Both the Browning and the Beretta are really nice guns. The are a bit bulky for .380's but IMO they are the very best .380's ever made.

A few years ago, I had a pretty nice collection - roughly two dozen guns of various types. Mostly handguns, but had a few rifles and shotguns, too. Glocks and HKs, Sigs and Rugers, etc. Then I met a woman with whom I became involved. A woman with six kids, a woman who was not particularly fond of my hobby, who I foolishly allowed to handle the bills (though I was the main breadwinner in the household). She had an uncanny knack of overspending, then being able to convince me to cover the shortfall by selling a gun or two. She'd tear up a little bit and put on the puppy-dog eyes and sob about the cable getting shut off, or the gas bill being late - never bothered to mention that things would've been ok, if she hadn't spent the money on Botox or whatever.

We're divorced now, and I've learned a few lessons:

1 - Don't get involved with people who don't support your hobbies.

2 - Do NOT ever let anyone else handle your bills (unless they make the money, too)

3 - NEVER sell any gun. Ever. Period.

I'm now in the process of replacing every gun I already had. Expensive lesson, lemme tell ya....

Sometimes I regret selling my first 9 MM. It was a hundred dallar Lorcin, but everyone who shot it said that it was a nice 9.
Part of the regret is that I sold it to my brother-in-law, for not much more of a reason than he wanted it.
I found out a couple years later that he turned around and sold it, but apparently, my nephew wound up with it and carries it in his pick up.
Now, I subscribe to my late husbands rule... bring all the guns ya want into the house, but ain't none of em going anywhere :)
Now I have his, mine, a couple from my dad, one from hubbies mom, and a few others that had to have been hubbies, but I don't remember them.
I made quite the find a month ago, a 30 inch long .22 rifle, a 1902 Remington Model 6. It needs the bolt from the stock to the gun part, the inside of the barrel is awful, even after 2+ hours of cleaning, but I can see rifling, so it's not a lost cause.
I will never part with another gun, I will sell the car first.

I sold my first 1911 to a fellow officer and regretted it. He was in the market for a Glock 22 so I traded my Glock for the 1911. It's a S.A. GI, and it's the first gun my wife bought me.

Not a handgun but I traded a Win 1200 shotgun for a hevay Chevy and thensold the car for 475.
17 years later he sells me the SG back for 50 bucks. :-)

I've had sellers remorse every danged time,,,

Because the only reason I've ever sold any of my guns,,,
Was because money got tight and an emergency came up that demanded immediate cash.

I sold a German made Drilling to make three house and car payments,,,
I sold my matching set of Colt Frontier Scouts,,,
I had owned 'em since I was 10 years old,,,
To pay a vet bill on my ex wife's horse,,,
Only for stuff like that do I sell guns.

BTW,,,
I hated that da**ed horse,,,
But I really loved the wife so go figure.

I've given guns away and not felt any remorse,,,
Last month I gave away a nice Universal M-1 Carbine,,,
I've owned it for better than 15 years and have only shot it maybe 5 times.

The kid I gave it to almost teared up,,,
I say kid but he's 24 and a combat veteran,,,
He was doing some grunt work on my property,,,
I gave him the rifle as a bonus when I found he didn't own a gun.

I actually felt good about that one. :)

.

I own every weapon I've ever had except for two: A Ruger P-85 Stainless (Stolen) and H&R Autoloading Pistol .25 Cal (sold at Gunshow for $250.00 and used to buy S&W Model 638).

Taurus pt11 millennium non pro. It was my first handgun I purchased when I turned 21. I realized how bad the trigger was after purchasing my first Glock so I sold the pt111. I bought back after a year or so just because it was my first one. I realized I still hated it and sold again. I replaced it with a M&P 9c.

Haven't gotten any of them back but i regret trading/selling every one except the FIE .22 revolver (my first pistol.)
