Handgun CC Question

I have not used this holster, however it looks like something I maybe interested in trying. My concern would be the comfort of carrying a gun in that particular area. Can you really bend over? And how comfortable can sitting down be? I wouldn't anything getting pinch, poked, or prodded. I generally carry a Glock 26, PF9, or P3AT. The P3at is what I take with me when wearing light shorts (pocket carry). It is so light you can use it while wearing anything. I carry the G26 and PF9 IWB in the small of my back. Most of the time this is fairly comfortable. However being in the south with high heat and even higher humidity, it can get uncomfortable with the holster up against your back. I have not seen these locally. Is online the only place they are offered? Where is the cheapest place to find one?

When worn properly, the holster and gun are below where you "bend", and neither of you are really affected. It really is very comfortable.

I ordered mine from them online. I havent seen them anywhere else. Just make sure if you by one elsewhere, that your getting what you think you are. There are apparently some bad copies floating around.

Quite true. I use one as a BUG or while working in the yard. Front left pocket works just fine.

The gun may not "always" be your first priority, regardless where its carried, and you may have to make use of your other skills (assuming you have them) until you can get to your gun. I think to often, too much emphasis is put on the gun and too little on other means.

Try to remember that when you're pushing 65.

Most of the match type shooting isnt all that realistic, and speed isnt always the answer.

True, but sometimes it is. If you don't want the option of a fast draw, that's your decision.

If your (sic) paying attention and see a problem coming, the better choice is to already have the gun out, rather than to try and draw later because you were caught flat footed.

Nice theory, but remember that the attack won't take place unless the BG is pretty sure he's got the advantage (that means surprise). Blitz-type attacks from close range are the rule. Contrary to what we see on TV, attackers aren't interested in conversation. They want to get your stuff and be gone ASAP. Jumping out of hiding and whacking you on the head is the-best-of-all-possible-worlds to them.
I learned quite some time ago that I was capable of making mistakes. It's possible that some BG might manage to get close enough to try an attack. Doing a one-hand speed rock with my left arm up to guard against a blow is just one of the many techniques I've practiced.

I'd a whole lot rather dress to conceal my gun than play around with a holster that'll slow me down.

Actually, I'm almost there. I still work hard physically everyday, and still work at keeping my grappling and retention skills up on a fairly regular basis too. Helps to have a couple of ex-footballer players for kids. :) How about you?

True, but sometimes it is.
Sometimes, but I think the problem with things like the different gun "games" is, the only solution to the problem is the gun, and the scenarios are often very unrealistic. Speed is more important because of the clock, not the real time timing of the encounter. Switch out your real gun for an Airsoft duplicate and then do it for "real", with someone who is really trying to get you first, instead of a static paper target, and up close becomes REALLY up close, and at light speed.

Blitz-type attacks from close range are the rule.
Again, if they are that close, your first choice is more likely going to be to grapple before you can get to your gun, regardless of holster type. If they have a gun or weapon, and are already that close (and if it is a gun, you can only hope at that point, they are close) then your best first choice will probably not be your gun, as you're (sic or not. :) ) already behind the curve .

No argument here, and I agree 110%. I normally carry a P229 IWB along with my Seecamp. 99% of the time, the Seecamp is a BUG. But as I've said, there are still times, as few as they may be, that you cant wear your normal pistol and need something that hides, but is still readily available, and fairly quickly.

I have and use ankle holsters, undershirt holsters, and a couple of others (which dont get much use these days since I got my first Smart Carry), for those times you cant, and so far, the Smart Carry is the easiest and most comfortable and concealable to use, and also pretty much the quickest to get to of the bunch. Best part is, I dont have to "try" and hide it.

If you dont like the idea of the Smart Carry, by all means, find something your more comfortable with.

Already have. P3AT in a pocket holster and Glock 19 in a Blade-Tech paddle.

I would think a belly band type holster would work better. Especially since you can move it around, as long as your jump suit stays zipped up.

Heck, you might even get away with a regular sholder carry rig in that case, and be even more comfortable.
