Handgun backlog-delays...question

Tom -
Despite what the news claims, folks are just buying guns (and shooting, and taking classes) at record numbers, and they're not doing it over some sort of political hand-wringing. They're just getting into the hobby, which is great.

I believe what you said is true for your area but I can tell you when I go to the range I hear lots of wild stuff and it has everything to do with the uh um thing happening in November.... I leave it at that..

Personally, I'm not sure if it's political or not, although I believe there is some merit to the political argument

Ouch--being in Chicago must for, lack of a better word, absolutely suck as it's the home of the Cubs:D--just kidding and I really hope that the CCW legislation (as well as gun-rights in general) progresses in the IL. State Congress to the point whereby it becomes 'veto-proof.' We are pulling for you!

Oh, I still hear it, but to no greater extent than I was around, say, Christmas. I'm just not hearing more of it in correlation to the upswing in buying and shooting.

Of course, I'll qualify that with a big yet.

Tom,

Perhaps we will have a chance to see your thesis/theory put to the test with a change in the Executive Administration (and to a lesser extent the Legislative Branch) come the November General Election. Would a change in the Office of President subsequently result in a corresponding decline, increase or leveling off of gun sales with a Republican victory (or perhaps even prove moot to the surprise of many)?

All conjecture as we speak but interesting still nonetheless.

-Cheers
