Hammerless

They are kinda like me,,,

Not all that great to look at,,,
But functional and reliable as the day is long. ;)

One of the young ladies I take to the range,,,
Recently bought a brand new S&W 638.

She said she's gonna call it Clyde,,,
After the camel in that Ray Stevens song, Ahab the Arab.

Ugly is as ugly does. Dumb ass is as dumb as does. There are multiple benefits to a bobbing a revolver hammer. Form follows function for me. YMMV.

Hammerless revolvers and no one mentioned the Chiappa Rhino? It's got a cocking spur that isn't even used for the DAO models (it's the rear sight) and an internal hammer so small and low in the frame that it resides in the grip.

I have no problem with hammerless revolvers, I just prefer a revolver with a hammer. If I wish to shoot in SA I need a hammer. Simple as that. To each their own.

I'm afraid I don't share a preference for hammered vs hammerless revolvers. My preference is more utilitarian.

Perhaps the ugliest gun I own is hammered... shrouded, but hammered... and loved...

340pd daily carry and it's ugly cousin the 649, cushion gun.

I'm on the do not like hammerless side. They just look strange to me. Some are ugly and some are not, but they all look like they're missing something.

You don't buy a 642 for looks, it's so you can get it out of your pocket. For pretty get a 15 or 19, they're hard to get out of a pocket tho.
