H&K P7 finish question

The P7s have a case hardened treatment .This however doesn't make it rust proof. Later guns like glock had an additional treatment which did add rust resistance. Normal care will take care of most of that .I found that moisture from my hands would get under the edges of the grips .I used silicone wax under the edges to cure that. Putting a gun in a foamlined box is bad as it can trap moisture . You can wipe down with RIG and use rust inhibiting paper.
