Guys in next lane brought a girl with them to the range today

My current GF who is 40 and had never even picked up a firearm before I met her will now shoot almost anything i let her till the ammo is gone.
Steel plates and my 45 are her "go to things" when we hit the range. I try to steer her to the 22 but she wants the "big gun" cause it makes the steel clang and move a lot.. :)

The more people male or female we get involved in target shooting, hunting etc the more it helps the cause.

I noticed that to at the indoor range I've gone to. There is a restaurant and one wall is windows facing the range and the women usually line up on the stools and watch their guy shoot. I was baffled as to why they weren't shooting. I've taken my girl with me twice and taught her how to shoot. At first she wasn't sure if she was even going to want to shoot at all but she stood behind me, flinching at each boom from the guy next to me as I loaded up the rented .22. I started shooting that one and my .357 offering to let her shoot at each reload and she finally decided to give it a try. After the first magazine, she was hooked. And she got a bullseye at 5 yards. She is always asking when can we go back and wants her own gun now. I'm signing her up for the next beginners class they have. I'm so proud of my 10 year old daughter. :D

It took her the 11 rounds and coaching to not bend backwards like something out of The Matrix.

I like to take it upon myself to grap the hip and straighten them up. After all proper form is important to the learning experience.
Lots of woman at the outdoor range I go to, some even compete. The indoor range is around the corner from the university and often full of hotties.

When I go to the range, my goal is to shoot what I intended on shooting until I'm satisfied, and then get the heck out. I prefer to go by myself and I rarely talk or socialize with others. If there are women shooting, I do the same thing I do if I see women at the gym - pretty much ignore them, regardless of what they may be doing right, wrong, or incredibly absurd. As a married man, it's just not my place to pay too much attention to other females - nothing good can come of it.

I've had my share of taking girlfriends and girl-friends to the shooting range. It's a lot of work and I get little if no good range time in for myself.

I use a small indoor range only a few minutes from my house. They host an evening women-only session once a week, half price with no males on the range. I would guess around 20% of the people there are women when I go on Saturdays or my afternoon off. It is not rare to see women taking lessons. I credit the management of the range for encouraging women shooters, with at least some success.

My wife is finally asking me when we can go to the range and she is also ready to move up from 22 to a P238 (.380). I'd prefer if she went up to 9mm, but I'm glad she's shooting and enjoying it, so .380 it is.

Im often more concerned with what others are doing. After all I could pay for there mistake with my life.

Its pretty common now. My sister is the second highest shooter on her highschool trap team and I often have female Marines tag along on out outings north of base

The risk of serious danger at a range is minimal in my experience. In my 30+ years of shooting, I've yet to see anyone get shot, or even a close call. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just that it's not part of my life experiences. While I've never witnessed anyone shot by a gun, intentionally or unintentionally, I have seen my fair share of vehicular related deaths and have personally experienced vehicle related bloody injuries. Funny how society thinks texting while driving is no big deal, yet having one beer before you wonder out in the woods to hunt in a blind is a cardinal sin (not that I've done that).
