Gun shop loyalty

Lawton, OK does not have a gunshop. We do have a large number of GI-ripoff pawnshops. The nearest gunshop is about 35 miles away. That guys prices are so high i won't go near the place.

I suppose the real question is "does any gun shop feel guilty because I had to buy a gun off of gunbroker because they couldn't match or beat the prices on gunbroker?"

Probably more nauseated than anything!:D

When I have a need for a firearm, I look for the best price period. Guilt free for alot of years now.

For new, I order from one of two shops I've been dealing with for several years.

Used firearms are where you find them, and the owners of both local shops fully understand that. If a shop upstate has a great deal on some used pile-o-parts and I snag it ... they know I'm a tinkerer and they don't hold it against me.

I am usually pretty loyal to the stores I visit, however if they don't have something I am looking for, I'm not afraid to look elsewhere.

Attitude and price are the most important. So I have to say no. I don't mind ordering if my first 2 concerns are met.

I started buying all my firearms, and supplies, from McBrides Guns
in Austin, Texas, back in 1964, and stuck by them through thick
and thin. The McBrides are a wonderful family, and I always got
good deals from them. However, I moved alot farther out of town
and now I deal with Cabelas, in Buda, Texas alot. I get most of my
bullets, powder, and primers there, now. I still get into Austin, every
now and then to see my buddies at McBrides, tho. They still have
some of the best selections in central Texas area for guns of all
kinds.

I'm very similar with aaron ..

if on a new non stocked item i'm looking for, i'll check for best price online, and ask mr evil pawn if he can get close to it, comparing out the door costs..

if he's within 75 bux, i'll get it from him... sometimes its tough, when sales tax comes into play though..

for ordering accessories, i'll ALWAYS ask him, as his orders are cost+10%..

transfers are 25 bux..

consignment fee is 10%

he deals a lot in used stuff, so I never know what he'll turn up with...

could be a 95% smith 28-2, with papers/box/tools, or a pre 14 k 38 masterpiece..

or a new gold cup..

but if he thinks i may be interested, he'll give me a call..

yep..i like trading with him..

My favorite gun shop is Pennsylvania Police Supply aka The Officer's Store located in Chalk Hill, Pa. It's approximately an hour and 15 minutes one way.

My 2nd & 3rd favorite gun shops are in town. Roughly 15-20 minutes away.
Out of loyalty to my favorite gun store, I have no problem driving the extra miles as well as having extra time on the road. I trust these guys 100%.
