Gun Safety but still at reach

I have a digital combo safe bolted inside the bottom section of my solid hardwood night stand. Keep two revolvers loaded and ready to go (who wants to try and do a reload?). Having to punch in the correct combo ensures that I am awake enough to handle a loaded firearm correctly. Two flashlights stay within reach. The safe I use is a medium security safe which has some weight, so that ensures that any burglar will have to carry out a 70 pound bulky nightstand. It also ensures that the any of the neighbor's kids (and snooping baby sitters) can't get to them. Safe, fast and secure.

Kntrim: Sounds like you already have a great idea. I've always advised people to keep their firearm just out of arms reach from the bed. That way there is absolutely no way you can accidentally touch it or move it in your sleep, but it is close enough to get to quickly.

Your idea sounds fine with me, I'd go with it.

Mines on the floor in a unzipped gun pillow next to the bed.

We have no kids and burgulars, well, they want it I'll give it to them.

Well,part of it anyway.

One on the hip, one next to my laptop beside my bed. No one ever enters my apartment except for me. When I go to bed, both pistols are next to my bed, along with a handy mini-maglite. I have occasionally fallen asleep with my carry pistol on my hip as well. Secure, but uncomfortable when I wake up in the middle of the night.

Living alone, and overall being a few steps away from being a hermit has major advantages.
