The speeding vs. DUI comparison is baseless. There is no correlation between speeding and chance of being in an accident. I had to do 60 (55 limit) on a local highway for a week and was passed by EVERYBODY for five days, and I never saw one accident.

Besides, speeding ticket records are not publicly available. If the question came up, you can say:

Madaam, since traffic violations are not available to the public, I must assume that either A) You illegally obtained this information, or B) You are lying.

Somebody like that pretends to take the moral high ground over me, they damn well better be clean and pure and without so much as a jaywalking ticket on their record. These people slam clipboards into other peoples faces, knock them down onto the street, steal literature, and propagate vicious lies about gun owners, just to name a few transgressions. They do not deserve consideration such as you'd normally give to a decent and honest opponent. They've proven themselves time and again to be dishonest, unfair, and underhanded.

This is not an attack on those TFL'ers who believe it unfair or petty to assail the lady's record. It's an indictment of her and her kind.

You missed my point entirely. I'm saying that if mud slinging starts, it progresses to the point where the real issue will be lost. We and the MM's will be reduced to a bunch of bickering fools slinging mud pie pieces.

And the two speeding tickets were mine, therefore they were neither obtained illegally, nor was I lying.
 
The point is that we want to keep people alive, and prevent people from doing things which kill other people.

To take a microscopic view of the issue and claim that it's all about guns and avoid the larger issue is foolish.

If she were talking about handgun violence, should we ignore anything on her record about shooting someone with a rifle? If we let them define the battlefield, they will win. That's the way it works.
