Gun control poll at ABC

That's not a "poll", it's a "solicitation for an engineered answer".

It really pisses me off when the one and only pre-qualifier of a poll like that is:
"There have been three deadly shootings at schools within a seven-day period."

You know EXACTLY that this "poll" is trying as hard as possible to get a desired result.

They could have just as easily led with: "The use of guns to commit crimes is no where near the number of crimes that are thwarted by citizens with guns.
Should there be more gun control in the United States?".

But that ain't ever going to happen.
So go to this poll and vote early, and often from your other available ISP addresses at work, home, or whatever.

Billy Ferry Jr. used a pail of gasoline to kill 5 people in a Winn Dixie years ago. Folks who blame the gun are just plain........IDIOTS.

If you delete cookies in Internet Explorer (under "internet Options"), you can vote again, but the results are displaying weird (not incrimenting 'instantly') so not sure if they are going through properly.

Seems if you can vote, eventually it will be counted.

we all need to vote this one folks....

Someone should make this sticky......It's time our opinions are heard.
Let's get everyone to vote this one

Same nonsense......

What would you expect from a ABC News Poll? Or NBC,CBS, CNN, MSNBC, BBC, 99% of the news papers, etc,etc,...... Anyone who gets their (so called) news from any of the left wing news agencies can expect to get cherry picked, slanted news coverage. We've been spoon fed liberal nonsense for fifty or so years. Thank God for talk radio and Fox News, who some times acknowledges there is a conservative side to issues.

I swear, my version must be different, because I don't have that poll option anywhere, and I looked everywhere, did a search for "vote", too, and nothing

Ummm, its a poll on a news site, its not going to decide the fate of the world. Let it be so we can see what percentage of ABC watchers would vote for gun control.

Even before it was brought to our attention here, the poll was almost even with the anti's being slightly ahead.

Fast backward to a dozen years ago and the era of the "Million Mom March" crowd, and you would have seen this poll be 20 to 1 in favor of the anti's.

We've come a long way, baby.

Exactly. Why bother so much with internet polls?

If I went into 1/10th of the trouble I've had to fix because of jackasses from freerepublic.com using server exploits to fsk up polls on websites I host, it would fill two pages.

People could put a teensy bit of the effort they put into voting "early and often" on webpolls and making sure links to democraticunderground.com are "cold" toward writing letters to their representatives and doing things for the RKBA that don't involve mouseclicks and self-important fantasies of "I am doin' sumthin' meaningful with this trivial webpoll!"

I don't recall ever seeing a poll where most Americans didn't support gun control. It may be the majority opinion, but like most political hobbyhorses that doesn't make it Constitutional.

We're now ahead in this poll

Of course it is not scientific..no one expects that.
IMHO the opportunity here is to demonstrate to the fence-sitters or the uninformed that the issue is certainly not one-sided in this country.
We've GOT to be pro-active at every opportunity. We've GOT to learn from the brady types when and how to take the initiative!
