DNS-Besides, what jurisdiction does a court in California have over another nation. That court doesn't have any.
I absolutely agree. However this was not a judgment against the Iraq Government. It was a judgment against 1 Billion in Iraqi funds held in US Banks. Our own government prosecutes such cases against US Citizens daily. They're styled as US Government vs $XXX US Government funds. As the owner of the funds, you're not even a "party at interest".
So this is simply a judgment in favor of "US Citizens vs $1 Bill US Government Funds". They won it; they should collect it. And the Patriot Act should not stand in the way. The Bush administration either believes in the Courts rights to bank account assets or they don't. But they can't "take" on the one hand while refusing the ultimate authority (citizens) the same rights.
