Grip Fettish. How sad is this?

It’s not sad at all; changing grips is the simplest and cheapest way to personalize a gun. That may be why most gun guys have an assorted collection of extra grips...

Very nice grips. Not sure if the new Bodyguard (why didn't they come up with a new name to avoid confusion for old farts like me?) has the same grip frame as the J frames. (is the new Bodyguard a J frame?) Keep us posted.

Yes, it's J frame. I managed to find one without crimson trace...so saved a lot there, knowing I'd be wanting wooden grips anyway.

I bought the Coco-Bolo finger and checkered grips for all my (7) Colts from Hogue. Set me back a few hundred, but it's just money, and damn, they look good.

evolution: function only

I evolved; I care now only about performance.
Looks matter not; none nada zero.

Unless, of course, I plan to display only. Which I don't plan at all :D

I used to get wood-woodies, but found function often degraded. But I have some beautiful left-over wood....

I get you Weshoot2. I really do. But I don't think that also caring what a gun looks like is some sign of "lack of evolution". I feel that bringing beauty to the guns / sharing photos of beautiful guns etc may shed a more positive image on the hobby...spark interest from new folks and perhaps redirect attention away from the negatives to the anti-gunners. Perhaps showing them that guns are also art and not just killing machines, they might understand and even eventually respect why some of us want to collect them.

WeShoot2, not everyone carries concealed. :D

I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one with a box full of grips not because I buy them and don't like them, but because I like them all. My GP100 has 4 sets of grips, and I don't even want to count the sets I have for a 1911.

I wanted a snubbie .357, but was on the fence about what to get until I saw a set of stag insert for a SP101....got the grips, then got the gun:D

Nice snag, once in a while you can find good stuff at reasonable prices, but you have to have the patience to keep looking.

Rdkill,
Have you tried working on them to make them fit? I have about 7 revolvers with wood grips now, but everyone needed some adjustment to get them to fit right to the grip frame or to suit my hold. Just offering a possibility...

Hello Sharpdressed Man,,,

Now that's what I call a Barbecue Gun,,,
You could chow down on some ribs in high style wearing that rig. :D

Grip Fettish. How sad is this?

I'm another guy who really likes the "proper" grips on my handguns. And I'm not happy unless mine are all dressed properly.

If for some reason they don't fit my little bodyguard, I will carry them from shop to shop till I find something to put them on. Maybe they aren't everybody's taste....but they sure are mine!

Come on, fess up, that's why you bought them. An excuse to buy another gun.:D
Sounds like something I would do!!! LOL

You might try 'em on a Stainless...here's a pair on my wife's Airweight and another on her former M36, then a trio of home-mades on a cpl of Rugers. Keep looking, you'll find the gun to match them up with...they're beautiful. Rod...I do like fancy wood!
