I just won these J frame RB grips on Ebay for a little under 50 bucks.
If for some reason they don't fit my little bodyguard, I will carry them from shop to shop till I find something to put them on. Maybe they aren't everybody's taste....but they sure are mine!
That is some really nicely figured wood... did they say what wood it was? It sort of looks like Goncalo Alves... what S&W used to put on all their revolvers, but it's more highly figured than most.
nice...
I'm revolting against plastic. I own several plastic stocked guns and sometimes you can't avoid it on grips...but every chance I get now, I choose wood over plastic and leather over nylon. natural materials are the only way to give them their unique personalities.
LOL John...I know what you mean. I bought a set of burley maple 1911 grips before I ever had a 1911. Finally on my 4th 1911 purchase, I found one to look right with those grips...and of my collection, it's the least expensive, least "liked" 1911...but a fine shooter and I do love those burley maples!
I still have a nice set of walnut and a nice "rosewood" set for future 1911s..I like them a lot but don't see them as an improvement over existing grips on my current collection...so that means what? keep shopping for nice 1911s with ugly grips!
Those may not be S&W stocks. Check the grip pin orientation in the revolver compared to the pin hole placement in the stocks. Also the stocks may have been made for an I frame, a short J frame. There may also be some small difference between a newer .357 j frame and the ever so smaller .38 J. Lastly if the stocks are for a M-40, or the gun is an M-40 the grips may not fit.
I once swore I scored a home run with some beautiful aftermarket R/B stocks. They were made for a Charter arms .
I know they aren't S&W grips. That was never a question. If they don't fit, I get to go gun shopping ...but the ebay listing listed compatible models as well as J Frame Round Butt. "Shrug"
