Some of this stuff can be viewed on TV Land if you have cable or a dish.

Happy Shooting :)

Is Spark the only one who mentioned
"Space, Above and Beyond"?? My favorite episodes from that one were
-The one where Cooper Hawkes goes on a covert mission on an enemy planet with Dale Dye and, except for flashbacks, doesn't say a word the whole show.
-The pilot episode with whatshisname the DI
-The two episodes where they tangled with the enemy ace "Chiggy von Richtofen"

Other Edmund favorites:

Tour of Duty (hokey in many ways but still nice to hear gunfire during prime time)
Get Smart (missed it by THAT much!)
Batman (...same bat time! Same Bat-channel!)
Speed Racer
Original Star Trek
Saturday morning Bugs Bunny (Kill the wabbit! Kill the wabbit!)

Wow, I didn't know as many of us are/were as addicted to the TV as we are to our PC's!

My favorite Doc on Dr.Who was Baker, the guy with the long scarf.

Some others: Scarecrow & Mrs. King; What's Happening (Rog, Rerun..); Good Times; some old cop show, uh, Barney something, kinda tall, greyish curly hair, mustache, suspenders, the show always began or ended with him smiling out the door with his sport coat over his shoulder, dangit, it's on the tip of my tongue; Mike Hammer; Simon & Simon; Hitchcock Presents; Twilight Zone; Star Trek (the real one); Little House on the Prairie; Mork & Mindy.....
Hmmmm, I watched too much TV.

Still do! :) :) :)

Oh I forgot "Ren and Stimpy"!!! I know that's not an oldy, but I miss it. My local video store sold all of their copies. :(

BTW, Tom Baker was THE DOCTOR. The BEST villians were the Dialects. "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" Little nazis in robot suits. Simon Baar Sinister was the best cartoon villian. "We shall capture Sweet Polly Purebred, and lure Underdog into the way back machine. Hehehehehehehe!"

Oh, One more cartoon....."Danger Mouse!" and his little near sighted side kick, Penfeld.

I guess its a good thing that TV isn't that good anymore. You would never get me away from it.

Moose and Squirel of course, love that fearless leader.
Mr Peabody and his boy Shermin.
Star Trek.
12:00 High.
Dragnet.
Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges.
Combat.

Not yet mentioned...
Simon & Simon and Gerald McRainy is one of us

"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes" RKBA!

Oh yeah, I forgot those too. Rocky and Bullwinkle show was a classic. I still see a rerun once in a while. I think they are on the Cartoon Network. Maybe I'll get a real smart dog, put glasses on him and name him Mr. Peabody. But then I'd have to have a boy and name him Sherman in order to stay consistant. I'll have to talk to my future wife about those plans.....LOL

Outer Limits.
Twilight Zone!!
Munsters

Just as there is no such thing as too much fun,
there is no such thing as owning just one gun!!!

Off my meds (quit smoking), armed to the teeth, and loose on an unsuspecting society!!!

As a pre-teen, the two sitcoms I NEVER got tired of were Cheers and Night Court. That was when NBC was the king and everyone else was struggling to catch up. Miami Vice was cool too, and Don Johnson actually used a Bren Ten 10mm for a while (didn't know what it was until much later). Simon and Simon was cool, and the Equalizer was one of my favorites. Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were good ones, And my whole family loved (and still does) All In The Family. Mac Gyver, The A-Team and Night Rider were a religion (even though looking back at old episodes shows how goofy David Hasselhoff looked in a skin tight leather jacket with shortened sleeves).

I also loved the 80's sci-fi. Remember Manimal and Misfits of Science (with a blossoming Courtney Cox)? The only show I watched more than once on PBS after Sesame Street was Doctor Who with Tom Baker, of course. I liked the Cybermen with their little cobra thingy as villains better than the laser-firing, talking trash cans (aka darlects), though. The episodes about the giant vampire sleeping undergound was killer, too. Funny the things you remember when you were nine! If only all British shows were so good.

As far as "modern" shows go, the only comedies I liked was Married With Children and In Living Color, which both came along when our cable company finally picked up Fox. The writers on MWC were geniuses, period. I think they must have migrated to the WB when Unhappily Ever After came along, another show I miss. I thought Brimstone, the new Fantasy Island, Kindred: The Masquarade, Action, and Vengance Unlimited were good ones that died too early.

Long live The Sopranos.

Don't forget Honey West! Anne Francis in leotards was Great!!!!!! The original Burke's
Law. Jackie Gleason's show and Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, and Jungle Jim.

I miss the early cartoons, with the Roadrunner, Tom and Jerry and Sylvester being my top choices. Although still on cable, there are not any new ones being made. :p
