Along the lines of the "Favorite Shows" thread, what are some of your favorite programs that have been off the air for so many years you can't even find them at 3am on the satelite network with 800 channels?

Some of mine: Airwolf, Streethawk, A-team (still on cable), Newton's Apple (with the original host), Doctor Who (now there was a cool show!), Emergency! (I think that's still on cable too), and oh there are so many more!

Remember when cartoons were all about some kwazy rabbit, or the roadrunner, or Marvin the Martian?
Now there's only this silly crap about dinosaur aliens that morph into other odd things and stupid shows about photon beams and transmogrifiers etc.
Oh well, I guess that's progress! :(

growing up I was lucky enough to be able to watch the original StarBlazers anime on a local TV station...I would kill to see that series rebroadcast...heck, I think I'll just run down to a comic book shop I know of and pick up the tapes :D...sometimes, technology is my friend...

I second Airwolf, The A-Team, and Miami Vice!

I was always partial to Buck Rogers, MacGyver, The Prisoner, and The Dukes of Hazard, as well. They may be on cable now -- I'm not sure, but I haven't seen them in a zillion years!

Tales of the Gold Monkey
Bring em Back Alive
Johnny Quest :)
Magnum PI
Miami Vice
The Young Riders
Strike Force (a short-lived series with Robert Stack)

Wow, Doctor Who........
and I thought I was the only one, Kframe. Who was your favorite Doc?

Lessee, what else:
Combat
Twilight Zone
Dark Shadows
Branded
Tour of Duty

Beginning with best:

1. The EQUALIZER!!! ;) USA Network really messed it up when they started editing reruns to allow more commercials. Now its off the air. I wish I had unedited VHS copies of all the episodes. Anybody happen to know if they exist?

2. The Rifleman w/ Chuck Conners. Able to fire 12 rounds from his Winchester 45-40 into the black heart of the bad guy before he even hits the ground. He didn't go for this "double-tap.......evaluate........re-engage if necessary stuff"! Nevertheless, he always tried to avoid trouble, and resorted to lethal force only when necessary. I liked that there was always a moral to the story, especially teaching his boy about life.

3. Doctor Who (ONLY WITH TOM BAKER)! THE best Dr. by far. Back in high school I went to school one day dressed up as the Dr. and went on to be in a parade. Long scarf, jelly babies, wig and wide eyed eccentric. Only thing missing was K-9. It was pretty silly, but we had fun.

4. Whenever there's a cry for help..."Help! Help-HELP!" Shoeshine boy becomes in real life.....UNDERDOG" "There's no need to fear! UNDERDOG is here!" Do cartoons count? Maybe I'll take it as a new handle....or maybe, er The Rifleman,... no...um...or maybe..........

here are some classics

Brisco County Junior
Maximum Bob
Harsh Realm
Max Headroom
Have Gun will Travel
Wild Wild West
Twin Peaks
Northern Exposure

Hill St. Blues (possibly my all-time favorite, though the genre has certainly carried on)
M*A*S*H
Magnum P.I.
Bonanza (Hoss was my HERO! - and my nickname, too)
Gunsmoke
L.A. Law

I only saw reruns of some of these (Gunsmoke, about half of Bonanza), but I really think the best days of TV ended about 10-12 years ago.

Space: Above and Beyond - Marines fighting Alien invaders in 2043...

Brooklyn South - Cops in, you guessed it, Brooklyn, fighting crime and each other.

Brisco County Junior (I'll second it, though now that Jack of All Trades is on, I'm getting my Bruce Campbell Fix - "Hail to the King, Baby!")

Millenium - I love conspiracies

Action - Hollywood Exec's living life

Rosie O' Donnel show - Oh wait, I was hoping they'd cancel that!

F-Troop
Rawhide
The Bearcats
Bronco (?? Not sure of title -- starred Ty Hardin??)
The Guns of Will Sonnett (Or was it the Sons of Will Sonnett???? "No brag; just fact")
