Great Customer Service

I think what we're actually talking about here is...

... good after-sales service.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the best possible customer service comes from building a gun right to begin with, so that it doesn't require after-sales service at all (because, no matter how you cut it, having to send your favorite piece back to the factory is still a pain).

By this reckoning, I would rate Ruger and Glock tops.

No problem with either brand. If I never get to see what their after-sales service is like, I'll be happy.

Like my grand dad used to say, the best after-sales service in the world is still a poor substitute for getting it right the first time.

I have always used local gun smiths for tuneups. None of my guns have ever needed repair, even with thousands of rounds put through them. The local people have faster turn around times and I get to show the technician exactly what I want with gun in hand.

Wow! I always wondered why Ruger and Glock never bothered to publish a customer service number. They simply build indestructible products... You learn something new every day on these public forums.

Edit: What a load of crap!

I agree with rauke. If a company sells a new weapon that fails...>

...they are already in my bad books. Fixing the problem without overly inconveniencing me is the LEAST I would expect. I'm afraid wonderful after-sales service just does not make up for the fact that they issued a faulty weapon in the first place.

However, this is in my own private, perfect world, and I realise it isn't reflected in the real, imperfect world :-)

In light of my thoughts Beretta has offered the best service to me as I bought one of their Model 87Ts new and it hasn't failed in any way.
