Great Customer Service

I recently had to send in my 442 to S&W for service. I was very pleased with the turn around time and service I received from them. This is the only gun I've ever had to actually send in for repair. Other guns companies have been able to send me parts for minor things. So, my use of actual warranty repairs that required sending the gun to them is limited. I was wondering who you guys think has the best service.

I've had nothing but great customer sevice from:

Seecamp
Ruger
HK
Kel-Tec

I've had VERY bad customer service from:

Kahr

Wilson Combat

These two companies are what all companies should emulate when it comes to customer service. With Wilson I e-mailed them regarding a stuck nut on one of their magazine extension tubes for a Remington 870. About an hour later at 9:30pm (!) I received an email reply back with instructions on how to remedy the problem from their rep's personal iPhone (who was probably at that time at home). The first thing in the morning I also received a call to ensure that everything had worked out okay. That right there told me loud 'n' clear that Wilson was a company I would happily do business with whenever I could.

I hope I am able to say the same. My 638 needs to go back to them due to FTF's, which I believe is due to the fact the firing pin barely sticks out. Could be wrong.

On the phone cs said they would mail me a shipping label, that was 5 days ago. Yeah.

When I had to ship my FNP9 back, I had a shipping label in a half hour. They emailed it. I was able to ship the pistol the same day I called them. Great experience.

Between the 638 and CS, I am not too impressed with S&W so far.

I had outstanding service from Springfield Armory and it was for a relatively minor (some might say picky) problem.

I've not had occasion to send anything else back.

It's a mixed blessing, I guess, to get a high rating on this kind of thead: In order to get on the thread at all, somebody had to have problems with your product;).

I've owned several Springfields and they were univerally fine works of art.

Best,

Will

I sent an email to smith&wesson first. And stayed in constant contact that way. I have been a s&w owner for years and was so unhappy with the 442 that I swore to never buy another one of their products again. Obviously they won me back over. Great service.

I have had exemplary service from:
--S&W (once)
--Kahr (once)

I have had very good service from:
--Springfield (three times, on essentially the same pistol--after the first two times, they replaced it, but the replacement had to go back once for the same problems)
--Para-Ord (twice on the same pistol)

I have received free parts numerous times from:
--Kel-Tec

I could not get much response or interest from:
--Colt
--Charles Daly

I've only dealt with Smith (twice, two different guns) and their service was outstanding. The reps were reassuring over the phone, the turnaround was very quick, and the guns came back better than new.

Excellent customer service from:

S&W--M&P FTE/sticky chamber--gun back in less than two weeks w a free mag and trigger job
RCBS--I broke a decapping pin out of sloppiness and they sent me a pack of 5
Rainier--Sent me 3 packs of 100 diff bullet shapes to try when I called about their .45acp 200gr FPs new shape not feeding quite as well
Beretta--when they had the Beretta Gallery in Alexandria, VA.

I have no experience with gun makers, but one with an ammo maker Corbon.
My .45 230gr +p had about 50% of them with setback.
The arranged pickup, and within 2 weeks i had a new box and they are fully crimped under the bullet line.
They were Perfect to deal with and wouldn't hesitate to buy thier products again.

Also had a bad experience with a local range, long story tho.
But in Ohio the New Albany Shooting Range is tops in customer care.
They fixed the issue and more than compensated me for my expense.

Only One Experience

My only customer service experience was with Kimber. I purchased a Pro CDP 4" and the slide-stop was defective. I sent it back (at my expense), they fixed it but marred the finish of my brand-new pistol in the process.

I do love the gun but was not pleased with their response. They told me that if I sent it back, again at my expense, they would fix the finish.

I recommend their pistols, but their customer service, in this experience, was less than what I would expect for what I spent.

I am encouraged by all of the extremely positive SW responses. My shipping label came yesterday and the 638 goes out today.

Hopefully all be be well. :)

I'm considering picking up an S&W 1911 pretty soon and it's nice to see that they stand behind their products. I've always heard good things about their customer service. Fortunately, I've never had to send any guns in for warranty work thus far.

Of all my firearms, I have only needed to send a couple back for repair or adjustment.

The worst experience was with my wife's Bersa Thunder .380CC. Her Bersa suffered the now infamous "disconnecter spring" issue, and was sent to an authorized repair center here in the states. I had to pay expensive overnight shipping to get it to the repair center, and did not see it back for 3-months! :(

My best experience was with one of my M&P9 Pro Series. My M&P needed to have the front sight adjusted, and I did not want to drift it without the proper tool. S&W sent a prepaid shipping label and had the handgun back to me in about a week. The best part is that they sent me 2 free mags for my inconvenience. Now that is service! :)

Had excellent service from FN. Called with a problem on a new FNP9, they sent a prepaid shipping label the next day via UPS, I put the label on the package and gave it back to the driver. The gun was returned in about a week and included a free cap and T-shirt - for the inconvenience.

I have only had to send in a gun once for repair. I sent my PPK-S to Walther for repair because of a recall. I was very pleased. It did not take long at all and I even forgot to include some of the necessary items in the package. The fixed the issue and returned it quickly.

Smith and Wesson has stellar customer service. They are in no rush to get you off the phone and seem genuinely concerned when you have a problem. I have nothing but praise for S&W's customer service department. I give them five stars easily.
