Got the CCW today

I celebrated by carrying to the library

I know you never know when what ever can happen. But I lol'd on that one. :p
Took 76 days for my local county to process the application.

Anywhere between 3 and 4 months in Michigan. Depending on the county your in.

Congrats btw!!! What are ya carry'n?

Mine took about 7 weeks here in Nebraska. I was suprised with how acomidating the state troopers were.
The whole prosess was more pleasent than the one with my county sherrifs office when aplying for a suppresor tax stamp.
Oh well I got the stuff now and I'm keeping it.

Before the election cycle...

... they were only taking 2-3 weeks in Florida, and 2-3 weeks in Georgia.

Not sure how long the processing takes in FL, now, but my parents told me the backlog to get into the ccw class is about 6 mos.

Told my dad to bring his DD214; last I checked, FL waives the training requirement if you have a record of military training, such as pistol or rifle qualification.

I celebrated by carrying to the library

The library? I congratulate you on your CCW, but you must have missed the memo. Every first time CCW, I mean EVERY first time CCW, MUST carry for the first time at Walmart. It's an un-written rule that's pretty much written every place.

Run, run to Wal-mart right now!

Have an LCP for summer carry in the pocket of my shorts. Will put the 2.5" barrel on my DW .357 when I want something a little more stout. Probably gonna get a CZ-82 as well. Next time I go to Walmart (and I go fairly frequently) I will definitely carry.

Sorry guys ya ought to move. Mine was 3 days in Minnesota and that included mailing time.

BTW the Wally World first time carry is because WW is actually pro carry, not just neutral.

congrats, here's your map!

Ze-I have a slightly different WW schedule:

1. Dog Food (have two and they like to eat, go figure).

2. Car Care (have three older cars and I always need something).

3. Sporting Goods (ammo if any).

4. Food aisles (I like to eat too).

5. Checkout (and that pack of beef jerky that always ends up in my bags)

Glenn: The Nachos are a specific traditional requirement for the new CCW recipient.

To teach you not to fiddle with your cover shirt and to teach you that "yes, you can sit down and not have the entire store notice you have a gun on your hip," you eat nachos. The cheese on your fingers stops you from fussing.
