Got myself an M1A

You won't be disappointed.

Anybody that knows me knows how anal I am about cleaning my guns. DON'T get an aluminum cleaning rod. Get one from J. Dewey. and find as much literature on the proper way to clean it. It may seem trivial, but is very important. You can do damage if it's cleaned wrong.

I recently purchased a preban M1A service grade rifle. It was in all but brand new condition for $810. I couldn't pass it up!

I have tried to use my Dewey rod with this rifle but the flash supressor is peeling the coating right off of the rod! Does anyone make a bore guide for the standard flash supressor? I've seen them advertised for the NM supressor but not for the standard.
I've been carefully using a 1 piece aluminum rod with good results but I'd rather use my dewey with a guide.

Like I said, mine is a service grade rifle with the chrome lined bore. It's accurate as hell! I can make consistant hits on the head sized 300 yd. steel bell at my range using surplus ball ammo. It doesn't get much better than that.

I used to be an FAL fanatic but I am converted now.
