Got a new rifle! :D

That's what my friend from France told me (he used to work in geneva). Big target at 300m. Rear sight set to 300m. 6 o'clock hold at #6 ring. So the poi will be above poa. It may be similar to military in other countries.

I don't 6 o'clock hold so I have to raise the front sight post by drilling and soldering a thin brass rod in it.

Like I said, I'm not selling the Mosin, it has a special place in my collection as the first rifle I ever bough myself. They'll both have a place in my collection. I just need to pick up some more GP11 and 2 cans of 54R sometime.

Here's the Swiss rifle web site with lots of info, if you haven't already discovered it:

The K31 I had the opportunity to try could easily hit clay birds at 100yds, with the surplus ammo and standard sights.
The fellow who owned it said the only drawback to them was mounting a scope, and understanding the more complicated bolt design for dis and re assembly.

Yeah MM I know you aren't selling your MN and I wouldn't recommend that you do. I own several MNs myself and a couple of K31s also. The MN has a lot of history as a rugged utility military rifle but when compared to a K31 it's like comparing a Yugo and a Mercedes. I know money is always tight but you need a K98 or variant, and a SMLE to round out your historical milsurp collection. And then there's the Springfield, Garand, M1 carbine, and on and on.........:)
