Good gun handling movie - "John Wick."

I particularly liked the part where the car shop guy explains to the mob boss what a stupid thing the "crown prince" and his buddies had done, and to whom.

Very old country in style, if not language.

"with respect, your Excellency, the Prince has gone and got himself killed,. though he is not dead, yet... " in effect...

Liked the gunplay, and loved the Hotel staff and rules.

Thought there was too much hand to hand in business suits.

I was surprised how much I liked it. I like the hotel and "rules" of the lifestyle. I also liked that he was actually killing everyone instead of like most "heros" shooting to injure then someone coming back at them later.

My two major flaws:
At the end of the fight in the club, after he was thrown off the upper level, only then did he remember he had a BUG?
The Russian just had to engage him in dialog when he could have just shot him. That is always my problem with action movies.

Big points in its favor:
I had Beagles and now have rescued Pit Bulls. So the choice of dogs was spot on for me.

Did that on the TV schedule, but it's good for only three days on the guide, and only 24hrs. on the menu. Is there an extended guide on the HBO [site]?

WILL.

If you subscribe to HBO then you should be able to access it through HBO/Go anytime.

Liked the movie. But I still can't buy a guy like that just walking into his basement in the scene that started everything without any sense of awareness.

HBO

;)g;
After your first post to me, I checked HBO's site and got the listings starting on the 24th:HBO East.
I don't mind admitting [that] I'm comp. challenged....Up one step from comp. illiterate. Been on almost a year (8-14-14) +/- and still can't figure out all the stuff available and.......Worse yet; How to access it. This Old Dog just ain't learnin' new tricks easily.

RE:Basement; 15yrs.LEO..Many in the Prison System....Grew eyes in the back of my head.;) ;)
I do appreciate the info though.,,,,,Mebbe Some day?? I'll get it figured out.

Caught the latest episode of "True Detective" on HBO tonight. Spoiler alert!

The previous episode ended with a detective taking two shots to the torso at close range from a 12 gauge shotgun. The first was from less than 12 feet, the second came when the bad guy stood over his body and fired into his chest. Figured that character is dead.

Nope, a scene later and he's leaning against an ambulance smoking a cigarette showing two other cops the red marks on his chest. Turns out he was shot with rubber buckshot. That ticked me off.

What's to prevent some idiot kid from trying that on a buddy after seeing the show? I get the entertainment value in leading people to believe that holding a gun sideways makes you tougher, or that you can shoot perfectly while doing a flip in mid-air. That's clearly fantasy. But letting people think that you can survive anything that comes out of the barrel of a gun at close range, all to move a plot forward, is irresponsible.

As one poster mentioned the word "Sillywood" earlier.. I think "Stupidwood" would be more appropriate.
