Gloves for gun cleaning

I like cotton gardening or meat cutter/produuce handler gloves. These are not the plastic/latex as you might see in your local Subway/Pizza assembly line.

I could never get gloves to work well. I have switched to Ballistol due to its non-toxic nature. That doesn't solve the powder residue issue that the OP is concerned about, but does limit the solvents.

+2 Nitrile Gloves
I use those stylish purple numbers.

Same here. I'm just annoyingly chemically sensitive so I have a well ventilated workshop and use gloves when I'm working with chemicals and that way I tend to avoid headaches and itching palms.

Wearing gloves while cleaning a gun seems OCD to me....
Wash your hands when you finish you will live

Perhaps, but the smell of Butch's Bore Shine is a beating to get rid of, and I do not live alone. ;)

Anyone else notice the 10 year thread resurrection @ post #15????

Hey, it takes a 10 year old thread to remind me, that after 60+ years I'm gonna die because I don't use mittens when I clean guns.

Unless I'm in a hurry or just doing a light cleaning, I always use latex gloves.

I also always always always wear safety glasses after learning a lesson. One time when I didn't I got some painful solvent splatter in my eye.

Always use ventilation.
