I'm no Nietsche, but I think Glocks suck. You can quote me if you like. Those who think Glock is "perfection" or the God of guns need, perhaps, to read up on their Nietsche.

Glock triggers suck. You can replace the springs, but you can't work on the trigger. Unsupported chamber is one of the worst and most dangerous in the business. Because of the unsupported chamber, Glock voids their warranty if you EVER shoot a reload in "their" gun. (All my other guns are "MY" guns.) They're fat. They're top heavy. Steel mags in a Glock will shear off the mag release. The Glock I owned shot really hard to the left -- yeah I could adjust the sight for windage, but I don't like having the sight hanging off the side of the slide. The frames flex when you shoot the gun. They're boring, no other gun made is quite so boring. "Boring" is subjective, I realize, but then so is the divine status afforded Glock by some of their owners.

OK, discuss . . .

he he :D

the only thing about Glocks that suck is the plastic sights... and yes, the .40s unsupported chambers. You can work on their triggers- glockworks.com did a fantastic trigger job for me.

To each his own.

For years I was a 1911/BHP person thats all I shot, didn't care for that piece of Europian plastic. Then I shot a friends a Glock 21, and I could believe how well it shot.

That was in 1994 since then I haved owned five glocks and have never had a problem with any of them. Between them I have fired over 15,000 rounds of 9mm,10mm and 40auto.

The majority of LEO's in my area carry Glocks with no problems at all. I would trust my life to them, the same as a 1911 or BHP.

I have only fired a Glock 17 once so I admit that I have VERY limited experience. The thing that pissed me off about it was that I was getting 2" groups @15 yards while standing!!!!!!!!!! This, from the first time shooting one. Yea, that sucks, and its sucks I don't own one yet!!

Everyone has their own opinion. I did not like Glocks for many years, untill I actually started shooting and owning them. I own Beretta's, 1911's, and have owned all the major handguns Walthers, Sigs, H&K's etc. But I carry Glocks. They are tough, and always go Bang when I pull the trigger, not KB.
I'm not pushing them on anyone, and they are not pefect, but they work, and work well, for me.

I hope the intent of this post was not to start a flame war, because I'm not going to play that!

It's true many seem to shoot left. However, this was easily corrected by drifting the rear sight (after replacing them, which needed be done anyway).

The things I don't like:

1. Cheap plastic sights
2. Cheap plastic guide rod (I know, it makes them lighter, but I had one crack on me after only like 50 rounds once)
3. Point too high (grip angle too obtuse)

But I like most everything else about the Glocks. I personally think the kb thing is crap, as almost all manufacturers have unsupported chambers. As for the the trigger, that's a matter of taste to start with. More importantly, the whole idea is to have a long and moderately stiff pull to prevent NDs when the adrenaline's pumping hard or when carrying CCW and you negligently allow objects in and around the trigger area. I say if you don't like the Glocks' trigger, get a 1911. It's just a different concept of safety margins.

[/quote]That's interesting to know -- this implies that if you just want to take the gun out to the range and have some fun shooting, you have to use factory ammo -- rather expensive, if you ask me and another reason not to own one.

I, personally, never bought one because I don't like internal striker fired pistols with no repeat striker capability.

Every manufacturer of a handgun says they will void your warranty if you shoot hand loads!! Next question.

You bet they suck. Mine sucks up any coffee spills without complaint. They can do liposuction of the fat guys at the range. Probably can replace the female form for those not so well endowed.

Hey JackFlash,

I'll take that crappy Glock off your hands for you and I'll even pay the shipping.

I will give it a good home.

My problem with Glocks is dofferent. I find that when presented rapidly as in combat firing or high stress practice they tend to shoot low, in my case about 18 inches low at ten or 15 yards. Thus problem does not seem to show up in slow fire,

Kudos the the Glockaphiles for not getting fired up over this thread!!!

When I saw the title I thought there would be a good war raging inside, but everyone has been quite restrained.

OK... quoting Jack:

"You can quote me...Glock is 'perfection'..."
:D

I agree, I agree, I agree... Glock is Perfection!!! :D

Ok, ok, I'm goin'... back to my polymer prayer rug and resetting my Glock Basher alarm. :D

Glocks are the worst. I mean who would want a light, compact, reliable, rust resistant, piece of junk? Who I ask? Not me, Sir, no way, or so I thought.

Glocks aren't meant to be tinkered with, they're meant to work out of the box. I only had one first gen Glock 19 that didn't function as it should, but then again all companies let lemons slip by. My local PD uses Glocks 22 and 23. I spoke to their armorer. He told that despite firing thousands of rounds they've never had a single problem, never. That's pretty convincing evidence for me from a reliable and honest source.
