Glock Struggle

I find my Glock ejects at my face if limp wristed. Not limp enough to cause a malfunction, but not as firm as it should be. I've seen it happen most with new shooters, but I've had a couple bounce off my forehead also.

The only problem for me is if it gets stuck in between my glasses. I had that happen once with brass from the person next to me. Quite unpleasant.

To me, brass that lands on your arm or shoulder isn't a big deal.

Plus, in a SD situation, I doubt you would even be in your normal range shooting stance so no telling were the brass might go even if you tweek the gun.

I also can't imagine that in a SD situation that you would even notice brass on your arm, or hell, down the your pants for that matter.

If the gun is reliable and you are accurate with it, I wouldn't personally change a thing or even worry about it.

My first early Glock 19 Gen 4 was a brass to the face king. Bought the upgraded recoil spring and ejector / extractor. Still did it. Sold that one off.

I have since had 3 more Gen 4 Glock 19s. No issues quite severe as my early model Gen 4. Just several thousand rounds through them since then.

It does happen and can happen with any manufacturer every now and then. It isn't a big issue. When you're moving and firing it isn't really a big deal.

Have you checked to see if it's an illusion from the walls next to you? If you're at an indoor range of course.

It wouldn't bother me too much as you've mentioned it.

Any gun can spit brass at you from time to time. If your pistol has a generally consistent ejection pattern, I wouldn't worry about it. I've been hit with Glock brass, too. I've also been hit with brass from an old police trade-in SIG P226, a couple 1911s, etc. Setting mini-explosions off in your chamber doesn't quite make for super consistent results 100% of the time. Here and there these things happen. It's a problem if it's happening consistently.

I had 2 of the earlier Gen4 pistols that had the older ejector and they popped multiple casings into my forehead per magazine. That was an issue. Luckily, the new ejectors fixed the problem for me. That was a definite issue in the early Gen4 days, though. I'd say the early Gen4 days will haunt Glock for some time and hopefully they'll be able to prevent issues like that the next time they push out a new update.
