Glock "safe action" question

One,

"Thanks lee
I'll let the two armorers I spoke to today that they are wrong".

No problem. If they need further instruction just have them call me. I think Jim gave the best definition of single/double action so I won't repeat it. I don't mean to burst your bubble One but there were pistol smiths long before Glock armorers and the workings of single verses double action are not exactly rocket science.

Why would I subject them to your pool of ignorance? I'm sure they will be much better off.

You can call me ignorant but the fact remains that then information given by all the other posters and myself are right,
The firing pin is under partial tension when the slide is racked.

Gee lee

Do you think that when you rack the slide you activate the striker safety? I bet that this pesky little safety would keep the stiker from making that noise in your oh so decisive test. Strip a Glock pull the striker back hear click that is the striker safety resetting. Depress the striker safety plunger, striker goes forward. Go figure. Safety restes no tension on striker.

The safety plunger prevents the pin from accidentally pushing past it into the primer. The trigger bar is what holds the partial tension on the firing pin.

When you take the slide off the frame the trigger bar is no longer holding the firing pin in it's rear postion. That's why you have to squeeze the trigger before you remove the slide, to release the firing pin tension.

Is your point here just to argue or are you really that thick.
