1) Glock plastic sights.
2) HK paddle magazine release
3) Ruger semi-autos = ugly
4) Springfield XD, XDM, XDS grip safety.
5) Smith & Wesson M&P "just ok" trigger.

1) they suck to you, but for the person that will likely do a range session a month, indoor? Probably fine.

2) who knew

3) they are just cutting every corner to make a decent pistol for bottom dollar.

4) I'm offended. I like the GS..

5) no worse than the lot on them

None of those chafe me too bad. I did ding a plastic front sight on a Glock, but I was planning to replace it anyway. I actually keep the back sight stock, and it has held up fine. There are plenty of pistols without grip safeties - to my thinking, it is just a matter of picking the pistol with the features you want. I guess I feel more or less the same about the other stuff. There are even uglier things out there than Rugers, but some people don't care about the looks of a pistol. I have a good bit of variety in my pistol safe, and I'm kind of glad that there are options out there for people who want a different set of features than me.

Not a fan of most Ruger semi autos. I love my LCP but otherwise stick to Ruger rifles and revolvers.

I have to agree about the Ruger LCP, hard to beat for pocket carry. I am just not a fan of the SR9 or American pistols, they need a better striker fired pistol. I don't see the Ruger American pistol catching on.

I replace stock sights on almost all of my guns first thing, so the Glock thing doesn't bother me.

I like paddle mag releases fine.

I find Ruger Semi-Autos look just fine

Grip safeties don't bother me (1911 guy mostly)

So, yeah, hate M&P triggers. You got me there!

Paddle releases, hate them until you get one, then you ask yourself how could I go without.

Plastic sights, why not? The rest of the gun is.

Grip safety, you have to hold it.

Rogers are ugly, little debate.

Smith and Wesson bad trigger, it's OK, nothing 4k rounds won't fix.

Owning all the guns you listed I don't really dislike any of the cons there. They are just the quirks unique to each gun and not even necessarily a bad thing.

I quite like the HK/Walther paddle mag release.

Plastic sights on the glock, never been an issue. I've changed some of them and would have done so even if they were steel. Still better than the basic 92fs sights :)

The HS200/XD grip safety is fugly but not a deal breaker.

Rugers have their own look, some better than others. I figure uf you don't like them then simply don't buy one.

S&W triggers are fine after you use the gun for a bit or nothing a simple home trigger job can't fix.

I've owned a couple of Glocks, and didn't know they had plastic sights. Had an XD once, and didn't pay much attention to the grip safety one way or the other.

Don't know anything about the M&P, so I can't say much of anything about it, but I have to chuckle when someone mentions an HK, then calls a Ruger "ugly."

 :D

I would add:

Glock: Trigger Dingus

And, yes, I'm offended by grip safeties! The chamber indicator on a Ruger LC9 is more attractive, more functional, and less intrusive than stupid grip safeties......and I don't like the chamber indicator. I suppose 100 years from now, old timers will just love chamber indicators, magazine disconnects and smart gun technology too, because they will be "classic".

Its interesting that the M&P trigger is being discussed but the Glock trigger isn't.

S&W did address this, with the M&P Pro, which drops the pull to the 4lb range give or take and a cleaner break. However, as noted, the stock trigger smooths out after about 500 rounds. I grew up with pistols that had to broken in and wouldn't trust one fully for self defense uses unless I'd run through a similar amount.

I don't know about the HK's version, but the Walther with the paddle magazine release was lovely, especially for lefties or someone with small hands that found the normal magazine release difficult.

Hinterland Outfitters

Whatever firearm you decide on buying I would recommend purchasing from Hinterland Outfitters! Their service is great and shipping is fast. They seem to be the only online supplier that actually has everything in stock! I highly recommend

A lot of us actually like the paddle magazine release on the HKs. I did not think I would at first but it did not take long to love them. My Walthers have them too.

Agreed. Paddle magazine releases are a definitely step forward from the traditional button releases.

A better option in this poll would have been "Button Mag Releases on Recent Walther Designs".

Fishbed, I'm not sure about that either. I've spent some time with the PPQ M2, and while I prefer the M1 with paddles, that button release sure is nice. Nice and easy to hit, I don't have to twist my hand around at all. For a button, it's one of the best I've found :)

So are we griping about guns that have not owned? Maybe we should try owning some of these. It's really not so bad :) if y'all can fall for the CZ these should be small potatoes

Ok hope I don't go to far off topic or insulting.
My Wather P30LE with paddle release is the most efficient design compared to my Shield 9 button release for mag reload. The urinal trough on the trigger guard of the Walther is no problem for me, tho I have small hands/fingers so my trigger finger fits well on the trigger. As for the Shield trigger, lot of dry firing, lot of rounds the trigger doesn't bother me. Yes the PPQ trigger is sweet and on my list. As for Glocks. No interest. Shot one once, not impressed, and most in my neck of the woods carry an attitude with their Glocks. Reminds me of the yuppies of the early '80's. As for Ruger...I'm a big fan of the revolvers and would love to experience the S$W models. Really wanna like a Ruger semi-auto, just not falling in love (need) with them yet. As for CZ? I really need to find one locally to lay my hands on.....the internet prolly doesn't do them justice but they look awesome. So in a nutshell I can't gripe too much about the tool itself and on any given day that tool may be or not.....so I'll keep trying/owning more of these tools. :D

Glock plastic sights? It's a cheapskate move on Glock's part, but at least they are easy to replace.

And Glock gets a pass on ugly pistols, but Ruger doesn't? Glock's ergonomics are also a bit troubling.

Ruger's pistols don't look that bad, and especially considering their budget price.

The grip safety is critical to the XD series. It's a defining feature, and one of the very few points of differentiation among the current polymer striker craze.
