Glock and Sig

Howdy.
I bought a Sig P228 about three weeks ago. It's NIB/plastic lockable case, and came with 2 Klinton mags. The gun is apparently assembled here in the USA, and did not come with a test target/shell casing. According to the info I got from a Sig-specific board, the gun I purchased was a Military/LE over-run. It is difficult to date the manufacture of these guns because of the lack of stamping ( the older german made 228s had specific stampings).

Mine had arrived in an unsealed bag, with a blue "Sig" grip tag and the inspectors tags strung to the trigger guard.

All in all it's a nice pistol, but as I posted elsewhere, was somewhat dissappointed at my initial groupings. Needs more break-in time. Hope it performs as well as the 220. Need to work up a good load for it.

I bought a SIG Sauer P228 that was used. I think it was used. Well, somebody dropped it anyway and the small blemish to the finish only bothered me until I started shooting the hell out of it.:D Buying a used gun is a little like buying a used car. If you don't know what to look for, get somebody that does to take a look at your prospective buy for you. If you go into the deal with your eyes open you'll get a much better deal than new more often than not.

Thanks tlhelmer for the kind word's; I don't claim to
be a Sig "expert" by any stretch of the imagination,
however I do study the detail's of these weapons
and try to help any way I can.:) :D

Almost there... I can't wait to pick up my Sig P228. I haven't even taken posession of it and I already want another Sig.

Which should my next gun or Sig be? I'm partial to Sigs and Glocks because I beleive they are the top 2 manufacturers in that particular order. One known for its accuracy and the other for its reliability.

I have two guns now, both 9mms. A Sig P228 and a Glock 19. I'm not really interested in any of the other calibers other than .45 ACP. So I read some reviews of the Sig P220 and it didn't seem like a work of art as the much touted Sig P226 and P228. Should I get another 9mm? The Sig P226 would make a great big brother and keep my Sig P228 company. Which is more accurate the P226 or P228 at 25 yards and further?

The Glock 21 (.45 ACP) is nice, but it's a bit large for my tastes. I've read somewhere that the 1911A1 design has some flaws. Those Kimber's sure do look nice and are expensive too. Do 1911A1s only shoot in SA mode? Since the Sig P220 didn't get good reviews, I don't know which other .45 ACP to get. I'd like a .45 ACP that I can carry. I don't reall care for the HKs because of it's blockiness and size and if I go polymer , I'm only going Glock.

Rumor has it that Glock may come out with some slimlines soon. I'd like to pick them up if they made one in 9mm or .45 ACP that's larger than the G36 but smaller than the G21.

Lastly, what is the Sig P210 made for? Competition? Seems like an old world design. Has the 1911 SA trigger and looks like somethiing that would be used in a competition at the Olympics. I'm only looking for DA/SA or DA only modern combat pistols. Out of all the pistols in the Sig line is the P226 the most accurate or the P210?
