Glock 43

I am for and against and have been for many years. I have two friends that both own Glock 17's, they both are not terribly huge gun nuts but shoot enough where all the problems I have had with their guns seem to point to my poor opinion. I recently purchased a G22 and actually really like it. I am about to upgrade some items on it I like it so much. But I agree the 43 seems like a pretty neat gun.

I carry a Glock 43 - it pretty much hasn't left my side since I sent ~500+ rounds downrange without issue this spring. If you're down with the Glock manual of arms, ease of maintenance, ergonomics and trigger, the 43 is all of that in a smaller package. If not, not. Your mileage may vary, and all that.

If your reasons for hating the Glock 17 are not based on its size (esp. its width, and attendant difficulties in carrying it concealed,) then the 43 probably won't make you happy.

The story of how my thinking on a carry piece evolved over the years, and how I ended up going with a Glock despite myself, is chronicled at more length here.

Put me in the category of "Glock Hater" as well . . and I admit I really have no basis for it. I have never fired one so it really is unfair to judge 'em. I know fellows who have 'em, have watched them fired and they work . . so why the hate? Don't really know . . .

I'm older and mainly a revolver guy . . but I do have a SR9 and reload 9mm. I was looking for a single stack and while at the LGS that I deal with, the salesman brought a Glock 43 out so I cold look at it. We laid it next to the 9mm Shield. I found that I really liked the feel of the 43. The one he showed me was waiting to be picked up and delivery of new ones at the time was "iffy" so I opted for the 9mm Shield. I like my Shield very much but now I really want to try out several Glocks . . . if for nothing more, than to have the experience. Who knows . . .. maybe larger 9mm Glock will be in my future for a range gun.

I found the 43 to be very impressive and have heard a lot of good things about them . . . had one been available at the time, I probably would have opted for a 43 over the Sheild just so I could say I had a Glock.:)

I certainly don't hate Glocks but they aren't my favorite feeling pistol but the the 43 felt damn good considering it's a pocket pistol and it's on my 'to buy' list

I am very happy with the ergonomics of the Glock 42 and 43. Finally, single stack Glocks in 380 and 9.

The thing I dislike about these little Glocks is the trigger. They are supposed to be around 5.5 lbs. of pull, but both of mine are around 7+ lbs.

How many rounds have you put through yours? My G43's trigger pull wasn't perfect out of the box but seemed to lighten up after a few hundred rounds. I haven't actually put it on a Trigger Pull Gage but I would guess it's around 5-6 pounds.

My G43 had a stock trigger that felt to be in the 8 pound range. A Ghost Edge drop in connector dropped the trigger pull down to where it feels like a stock trigger in the other models, 5- 5 1/2 lbs or so.

Glock grip

The built-in grooves on the gen 3 and later Glocks do not like my hands. The 43 does not have these grooves. I like putting my fingers where I wish instead of where Glock wants them.

I have very much disliked every Glock I have ever handled and/or shot and mostly due to the shape and style of the grip. The thing that attracted me to the G43 is the "Un-Glockyness" of it. I will not call myself a Glock fan by a long shot but I am impressed with the little G43.

I've never met a glock that I liked. I wanted to like the G43 but I didn't even though it does feel better in my hand than a G19.

I am a SAO guy though so the P938 buttered my bread.

Glock 43 9mm

I have both a G42 (that I use as a backup gun) and a G43 (that I now use as my primary off-duty gun in most circumstances).

I like both of them. I had Trijicon HD night sights installed on both guns last summer.

The G43 is essentially a single stack G26. I'd still be interested in a gun that was a single stack G19 (although the Kahr P9 and K9 sort of fit that role)

Time for me to take both of them to the range and get some trigger time in the next few weeks.

I have a Kahr PM9 that is currently listed on Gun Broker. I was very unhappy with it which is why I bought the G43.
