Glock 30 vs. USP .45 Compact for concealed carry

HK is the better of the two.
Check pointability before you buy ... Glocks point high for me.
Personally, I wouldn't go with either ... I'd go with either the SIG P239 or P229.

Glock 30 or 36. Accurate, user friendly, reliable. Easy to repair and get parts.

HK: Accurate, user friendly, but...firing pin breaks, decocking lever cracks, night sight failures, pain to fix, condescending service attitude, delay in getting parts. We have about 5 right now that need repair and have been waiting for parts for over 2 months...

seadog,

That's funny. One of the local sheriff's departments uses the H&K and they report none of the problems you list. They've had them several years (4?) and they do shoot them (I've been on the range with them). A close friend is a buddy of the sheriff and was told they have had minimal problems with the USPs.

I had heard of firing pin breaks in the past, but no one on HKPro.com has reported one in some time-maybe years (and folks over there shoot a LOT of USPs).

Never heard of or seen a cracked control lever.

What brand of night sites and how do they fail?

How are the USPs a pain to fix?

sounds like some of you guys are warring in the trenches.

get the one that fits you the best.

do you like a manual safety?

Onslaught, you said that the USP is the same width as the 36. Do you have the figures for both? I'm trying to decide whether to get a USPc .45 right now.
