Glock 27, am I the only one who hates it?

At the risk of being accused of being a spammer i will say this anyway....

A G27 can easily be controlled with the use of an Agrip™ grip on the gun... no finger extention needed, although the finger extentions definitely improve control.

With Agrip, the G27 will not change position in your hand at all when firing, even with the hottest of rounds, although of course it will kick, and Agrip works even better with sweaty hands.

I was actually able to shoot from the hip with a G27 and walk the bullets right into the head of a silouete target from about 8 ft, and hold them there and empty the gun, just like pointing a water hose. In addition, much to my amazement I was able to out-shoot my G20 with the G27, and that is saying ALOT from such a short barreled gun. Both guns had Agrip, and the G20 had a Harrts recoil reducer, but I think it just goes to show how much more accurate the new Glocks are, as the G27 kicked WAY more than the G20.

Personally i think the G27 is a great little gun, although i just bought a G29 to go with my G20, and the G29 is a piece of cake to shoot one handed too.

Greetings Poster's; Red Bull old buddy, I'm
with you on this one; although I prefer Sig
Sauer hanguns. The little G-27 is a charm.
I just recently shot mine while tuning up
for some Postal Pistol Competition. 10-shot's
at 50 feet on a B-9 target; and I scored a 92. It's definitely a keeper!!! :)

Why not a Smith and Wesson 642 as a backup?
What is the chance of needing ammo/mag exchangability(sp?) with a duty weapon in a "New York reload" type situation anyway?

I have large hands and find that the verdammte finger groove bumps make the Glock 27 unusable for me. They fall on a finger rather than between them.

GregM there are different sizes of inger grips. I saw them at the gun show. Some are approximately 1in and 2in. I have seen other companies make magazine covers that surround the magazine. This makes the 26/27 feel like a 19 or 23. I don't know the name of the brands, maybe someone can help out at Glocktalk.

I find that the best way to shoot a Glock is to hold it upside down, grab the grip with my off hand like a gearshift lever, and tug on the trigger with the middle finger of my shooting hand.

I don't worry about not being able to see the sights, since all Glocks hit the center of the target no matter where you aim them.

To reload, I depress the mag release while doing a forward flip, the mag drops free as I become inverted, and then I insert a new magazine from my "headbandoleer" as I land on my feet. It sounds complicated, but is really very easy once practiced a few times.

I've tried all the convensional Glock shooting postures: Blindfolded, underwater, while hanging from the wing of an aircraft in flight, while sleeping, and even while going over Niagra falls in a barrel....Nothing seems to work for me as well as the "upsidedown gearshift fanning with the middle finger forward flip with a twist" technique. Can't miss!

Hope this helps....
Best regards in good fun,
SM

Tanker, Take those stupid finger grooves and grind 'em off... I got a G29 and LOVE it, but, the finger grooves are gett'n removed as soon as i get off my butt. I also have that A&G grip "mag space filler" thing, and so far that thing is great... hi-cap and a +2 extender, 18 rounds of 10mm baby!! YEAH!!

Can you say what a bunch of wimps? A .40 cal ain't no magnum guys. Go to the gym and get in shape and learn to shoot. The .40 cal Glock is extremely popular with LEOs for a good reason, they work, they have a high mag capacity, they are affordable and they are extremely durable and rust free. A glock is as close as you will find to a forever gun. I agree with the ones who dislike the bump on the grip front strap. I searched around, until I found a dealer with a 21 and a 22 without those abominations and bought both guns. The ones who prefer the 19 are in good company, they are the best size of all the Glocks, the perfect compromise. 7th Fleet...LEO Glock Armorer/Firearms Instructor

Was going to say something - then 7th Fleet saved me the trouble ;) I have a G27 (one that used to be yours Covert) and like it. Only mods Ive done are the pearce grip extenders, mepros, and wolff guide rod / spring set. The last item is a must btw.

A nice little gun.

I wonder, will one loose more fingers on the shooting hand from a kb!-ed 27 or from a kb!-ed 23 :)?

Agrip will protect your hand (and you) from a Kaboom... but i think the G27 would offer the least amount of protection...

Also, the G29 is almost the exact same basic size as the G23, but is just a little fatter. Plus, the G29 kicks a whole lot less and is much more powerful...

I still like the G27 though...
