Glock 26 or 27 ?

I disagree with the "G27 kicks like a mule" comment. It's all what you get used to. I find my G27 to be VERY CONTROLLABLE and actually enjoy shooting it far more than my other pistols. I purchased the gun in March and have 600-700 rounds through it. Great gun. And since its my CCW, I want a caliber I TRUST to do the job. 9mm may be fine, but given a choice, I think the .40 has the edge.

I agree with Westtexas.
I've fired .357 snubbies and they are the ones that, IMHO, truly kick like a mule. My G27's recoil isn't even close to the recoil of a .357. However, recoil is a subjective sensation and everybody is different.
Try them both if you can.

A thought: Check out the 19 and 23. With the grip extenders on the 26 and 27, they end up being almost exactly the same size as these models. The advantage to the 19 and 23 is that they offer 15 and 13 round hi-caps respectively.

This is simply not correct. I have compared a 19 with a Pearce-equipped 26. The 19 is still about an inch longer. You can also make this comparison by sticking a 19 mag into a 26 and noticing the difference. The Pearce grip adds maybe a half or 3/4 of an inch to the baseplate of the magazine (and only in front at that).

If you plan to reload in the future, the 9mm is more affordable and much safer to reload.

BR,

I simply held a Glock 19 up to a Pearce equipped Glock 27 when I formed my opinion. They appeared to be the same heighth, with a slight difference in the barrel length.

I was simply pointing out that, for a little more bulk, he could increase his magazine capacity 30%-50%.

Does the Pearce +1 Extension for the G-27 affect magazine reliability in any way? Are you supposed to use the original mag-spring that came with the G-27? http://www.pearcegrip.com/glock27.htm

Thanx,
