is there any big fans of the glock 21 out there, if so tell me why. i have the oppertunity for a pretty good trade to get one and i was wondering how well they perform.

I have owned several but have never been able to warm up to them. Very large frame and the 10rd mags are crap! Accuracy is average but I prefer the G30 in 45acp. My carry Glocks are G19 and G23.

Go to your local shop that carries one and handle it to see if you like the grip, or better yet, rent one so you can shoot it. The G21 is the only Glock I'm keeping at this point (Dam those 1911s!) because it has some nice work done to it by Matt from http://customglock.com

I have the G21C which has the 2 ports on the slide. I use it for steel shootin' and such, but it is very versatile and durable like any Glock and accuracy is as good as you can be...

Great pistol, accurate, and reliable. Any negatives? It is a large pistol and I am sure better suited to those of us with larger hands. Do I own one? No. Why? One has never came my way at the right price. Until then I will have to use my Glock 30. Regards, Richard

Have one. Very accurate, and very pleasant to shoot. Soaks up a lot of recoil. Downside, as mentioned previously, is grip size. Try before you buy - it's a fat grip.

Pros: Very accurate, low recoil, and high capacity. Cons: huge grip size, poor sights (mine have broke before), and average trigger. Overall, I like the G21 a lot, but if your hands are small its a poor choice. Give one a try and decide for yourself. ;)

They are terrible. Go ahead and make the trade - then I'll take it off your hands for a very reasonable price (you won't lose too much on the deal). Then I'll have ANOTHER G-21.

I used to own a m21 in .45acp. I found it a vastly inferior weapon to the 1911. Poor trigger. Magazines that would not feed even hardball. I had one of the early high capacity M21's. It had a large thick slide that was not concealable like the 1911. It shifted its point of balance as the gun emptied itself. It had a lot of vibrabiton because of its plastic frame. It was extremely top heavy due to its large thick steel slide and light weight plastic frame. It did not point as naturally as the 1911. It felt as well balanced in the hand as my 1/2 inch electric hand drill. It had cheap plastic sights that are known to wear away from to many holster presentations. The sights are know to also break off. This came from a gunsmith in my area that specializes in replacing Glock plastic sights that have broken off for many unhappy glock usesrs.I could not get rid of mine fast enough. I do not wish to ever see one again. W.R.

I have one and love it. The Grip is a Little big but it works for me. It is a very accurate gun. I have not had any jams of any kind thru it and feeds everything...

I own about 15 different firearms in all sorts of makes, models, and calibers. My G21 is my favorite of all of them.

As was mentioned, though: the grip is pretty bulky. I'd also advise trying one on for size prior to the trade if at all possible.

I had a g21c model an it was O.K. I put some pt night sights on it and it improvred my shooting tremenously. I am not endeared to the .45 cal. I think when I was younger I could have out ran the round. Just me no flames please. I would love to have g19. plunker

Just a thought guys. My old department had some glock 21's grip reduced by Ropar and it fit my hand great when it came back. I believe the 21 is the best fighting 45 made. That being said I prefer the 357 sig and thats what I now use. My old Issue 21 however was not only ok for accuracy it rivaled my sig 220, HK usp and Kimber of raccuracy. Some loads it would shoot right at 2 inches at 25 yards.

plunker, I, for one, will not flame you for your craving for a Glock 19. It is the most size efficient 9mm service pistol made. Another pistol I rate very highly is the CZ75 PCR. If you haven't tried one you owe to yourself to rent and use one. It may turn your head. Regards, Richard

From a reloader's view, its the best 45 acp Glock because it will eat SWCs.

It's just as accurate as the average tuned 1911s and out to 25 yards you can score right up there with the 1911 crowd.

Great range and comp gun but for CCW, its my G30 that I love with a G21 hi cap.

Well my G21 is fantastic with factory loads. It seems to be more persnickity with lead reloads than my 1911. I like my G21, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd keep my 1911.

I've had excellent luck with my Glock 21. It's six years old, and has put several thousand rounds downrange with zero malfunctions. I have MMC sights on it, although I would currently go with the Heinie Straight Eight sights.

The Achilles tendon of any Glock is it's magazine. Get good mags and it will work fine. Bad mags and it's nothing but fodder.

I'm not Glock expert but I do have a G21 that I've had for about a month. If you do not have large hands the grip could be difficult to get used to. I'll have to agree that I don't like the ten round mags but mine's made in '91 and I've got some hi-caps so I don't really care too much about the ten's anyway.

I didn't like the original sights so I put some Ashley Express sights on it. My trigger is fine and it feels like the slide's on ball bearings. Couldn't be happier.

Performance of the G21 is typically Glock....reliable, reliable, reliable. In my experience, recoil is not "sharp", but more of a "push"... There has been some good advice in this thread...especially about going to a gun shop and handling a G21 to be sure that it has a comfortable "feel" for you...that being the case, I think you'll be happy if you buy one....my.02

I bought my 21 a couple of months ago and after 5000 rounds with no malfunctions I love it. Its true what they say about the big grip but of course I'm 6'2" 270 so it fits well....for CCW too. Got a blade tech IWB and very little print!
