Glock has been praised to feed almost any factory loaded range ammo. Visit your local Walmart and look for Winchester White Box 115gr or Federal 115gr. I would stay away from steel case (Tula, Brown Bear, etc) just because it can be harder on the gun and gum up the action. Save your brass even if you don't plan on reloading, it's a good bartering item. What range ammo is good for a glock 19 ? I'm talking about low price ammo. What about carry ammo for after I get my carry permit . That ammo I am not worried about the cost .
For carry ammo, you will want to buy a small quantity of a few types to ensure reliable feeding in your particular gun. Once you are satisfied with one, look for a sale and stock up a few hundred rounds (minimum). A few good options are Hornady Critical Defense, Speer Gold Dot, or Federal HST. I've had good luck with sgammo.com
