Glock 19 Feedback Please

I own four Glocks and the 19 is the one that gets carried the most. The only thing it needs are night sights of your choice and several high cap mags. We LEOs can still buy them for about $15.00 each from Glock or Police Supply Houses.
It is an outstanding gun and you will not be disappointed with it.

My first GLOCK was a 19 and it's still my favorite carry gun after 10 years. Never a problem.Parts were upgraded for free at a GLOCK shoot I attended.Bought another 19,last year, but don't know why.My first one will outlive me. Never any frustrations with any of my GLOCKS. Thats not what I can say about some of my other higher priced guns.

Shot in my local IDPA bi-weekly match last night with my G19. Only the second time I've had it out of the box, and I placed 4th overall (out of about 40 shooters).

Then I strapped on my G21 and cut 6 seconds off my time....

I think over time I will become better with the G19 than I am with the G21 though. Recoil and second shots were tremendously fast, and accuracy was very good. Most of the difference in my times can be attributed to the fact that I have been working with the G21 for almost 3 months and am quicker out of the holster with it, plus I didn't miss one of the head shots using it like I did with the G19.

Count me as a very, VERY satisfied Glock owner! :D :D :D

One more vote from me for the 19! Get at least one pre-ban mag with a +2, stoke it with 124gr+P Speer Gold Dots, and Meprolight night sights and you'll have an unbeatable carry piece. Utterly reliable, damn near indestructible, and 17+1 rounds of a nasty 9mm round.

At least that's what I think - that's my carry combo. :-)

The truth is in the trust people give them. I got mine for my daughter. I trust it that much. I do feel that ptnightsights.com (I think that is at least close) has the better night sights with a yellow up front and blue in the rear. Dont change anything on your gun until you shoot it stock for awhile. My $.02

Other than a 3.5 lbs trigger connector, that's all a CCW Glock needs.

If I could only have one Glock, it would be my G19!

It's as good as a 9mm gets.

My 2nd generation G19 has over 2500 rounds through it without so much as a FTF or limp-wrist jam. Accuracy is better than I can even dream of shooting without a bench rest and reliability is 100%. It's very size efficient with its 15+1 capacity in a compact frame. It's ready to go out of the box, but I recommend putting on night sites ASAP.

I agree with all the above praises of the Glock 19. I keep one as a house gun equipped with an M-3 light and a 15 round mag. It also doubles as my boat gun since I don't get all fussy if it gets wet (tupperware is good stuff). I will disagree about the night sights as I've found they're distracting more of the time than not. In full daylight, they do nothing except potentially draw your eye away from the top edge of the sights, in darkness, they don't identify a threat so you still need a flashlight and they can possibly paint you as a target. The only time they are useful IMO is dusk or dawn so I'd rather optimize for the 22 hours a day that plain sights work just fine.

Folks,

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm getting my first Glock next week. And it will be the G19 with 2 hi-caps and night sights. Hi-caps are running around $125 a pop, stiff, but its well worth the money. I was very tempted to go with the G23 in .40, due to the 1994....*!@$. But the 9x19 is cheaper to shoot and I don't reload.

Thanks again everyone, very much appreciated.

Best Regards,
Hann

don't forget to order an Advantage Arms Law Enforcement Model .22 lr conversion kit. Operates like a Glock slide and has Glock OEM sights. For only $250.

Best accessory for your Glock.

Practice multiple shots, double taps, fast firing, spinning targets all with a Glock trigger and receiver.

At 50 feet, I'm drawing and hitting a 2" spinning target. :)

I'm going grouse and rabbit hunting with my glock 19 with the 22 AACK on it next month.

If you're thinking of a G23 go for it. If you go to shows or if you order ammo isn't that much more for .40 than for 9mm. At last weekend's show I saw Denel 115 grs 9mm for $6 and Blazer 180 grs .40 for $7.50 for of 50 rounds. I mention these brands as they were the lowest priced.
