Glock 19/23 or CZ P-07 Duty???

When I was on the search for a polymer 9mm, I had the G19 and the P07 (& several others) on my list. While I eventually stumbled onto a P07 to handle, they're not commonly found in stores around here. I thought the edges might be a little sharp for comfortable CC. Wound up going with the G19 without having shot either the G19 or the P07. I'm sure that the P07 is a fine pistol, but I've been very happy with the G19.

Working in a gun store I've seen the Glock/CZ/XD/M&P/Sig/HK/1911 decision process more times than I care to recount.

What I have learned is most people have a preconceived notion of what they should buy based on actual personal experience, BS they read on the interwebs, influence from family or friends.

They people that tend to be the happiest with their purchase are the ones with an open mind when they come in the store. They look, listen and feel the available guns with an open mind.

People that come in set to get any particular gun based on what their cop friend told them or what the interwebs told them to do make up the majority of the less than thrilled folks.

G19 or P-07? I own both, the P-07 works for me. These are two *VERY* good guns. I think you would be hard pressed to feel like you screwed up buying either.

well, he was last here Dec. 9, 2012. dang, this is too good of a site to stay away from for that long. I'm on here, defensivecarry, xdtalk, concealedcarry, gapacking, theoutdoorstrader, every day.

I've never owned a CZ, so my thoughts are based solely on selling them and what I've heard from others. I personally think the p-07 feels very cheap (totally subjective, I know). The common complaints I got were that the magazine wouldn't drop out (had to pull it out) and that the trigger sucked.
Just the mental picture of the gun makes my lip curl and my butt pucker so I know I wasn't happy with what I saw even though in the scheme of things, those are really minor complaints. Side note- I have nothing bad to say about their steel guns- the 75 is a classic. Just THAT particular model....

Glocks, other than being ugly as sin and a grip angle that some people find to be problematic, tend to leave a person with nothing to complain about. Quality, functionality, user friendliness, and the ability to change/ customize/ accessorize to suit the users needs all set the brand apart.

The CZ is definitely more ergo- if nothing else, see if you can find someone to let you put a few rounds through their glock to see if you're a glock person or not- they're a pretty specific breed.

Yeah, umm, I didn't notice that the OP hasn't been around for the past three years . . . :o

Let's hope he's reached a satisfactory decision by now.
