or do you do like me and buy it cause thats all thats available at the time? sure i have black tactical firearms but why are most hunting style firearms black plastic stocks? its just ugly to see a bolt gun or pump shotgun like that. i went to cabela's and 99% of all the guns where black. i guess its cheaper and stronger than wood but can't they make more camo stocks or something?

I was tired of black plastic before there was enough of it around to get tired of. I hate the look of it. Give me real wood. I have a slight preference for stainless over blued but I'll take either, as long as it's not attached to black plastic. Some of the newer plastic models with coatings that at least look like something beside reconstituted Legos aren't so bad though. I like some of the Browning stuff.

Have had two black plastic guns. A Glock:rolleyes: and a Keltec P-32:) The Glock was sold a long time ago. The P-32 is still in my collection.

I actually prefer black over camo patterns on bolt guns. I hate the typical hunting camo look. Then again, I'm not a hunter.

Wood, on the other hand... Wow. That kind of stained gray (ash wood? I'm probably wrong) on the Ruger Gunsite Scout rifles is BEAUTIFUL.

Paint it! :D

Personally, I like the appearance of my Scandium Alloy SW 1911 and my SS J frames and blued Colt and SW revolvers.

But, I carry a Glock for a belt gun. It goes boom well.

Well, in order for me to get tired of black plastic, I'd have to buy some, first.

And, in order for me to buy some, I'd have to get tired of blue steel first.

And I don't see that happening any time at all.

I have bought at least one gun just because I thought they were beautiful guns. None were poly framed or had parkerized finishes.

It doesn't bother me one way or another. I like the look of good wood, but composite is usually cheaper so I'm pretty neutral.

Pistolwise grey is fine too. I like the occasional khaki/sand type color a lot, but that always seems to be on expensive pistols. :(
My .45 is bright aluminum, stainless steel and soft wrap around ruber grips. Quite nice.

I do like synthetic stocks on a pump shotgun. Something about a pump shotgun to me requires black furniture.

I was just watching some guys drill outside with M16's and found myself thinking that they would look so much better with M1 Garands or M1903's. There's just something about those full wood stock rifles that makes me love them. Maybe that's why I keep diverting funds for my future AR15 to military surplus rifles.

I’ve got a Colt AR15 Magpul edition and I think it is a very nice looking gun. I also have some other guns which are blued and have wood grips/stocks and I think they also look very nice. I’ve always liked a little bit of everything from classic revolvers, lever action rifles, parkerized 1911s and evil black riles. I like variety and couldn’t imagine just focusing on one type of gun.

I've never liked it either and refuse to buy a rifle with a "plastic" stock.

I will admit that some of the paint jobs I've seen on them would make the plastic easier to accept.

I like plastic simply because it can get beat to heck and I don't care. If it starts out ugly, it can't get worse. (I do have blued revolvers and a blued Colt 1911 that sure are purty though).

I have no use for wood on a bolt rifle. I prefer to have them hit where I aim and would rather save 12-24 oz on the weight. But I do prefer other colors, green and gray look good.

If I want wood, I'll take it on my levers
