Getting Lasik, does it improve shooting any?

I have a similar problem to fishing cabin.
I need glasses for driving cause I can't see distance very well.

When I shoot with irons, if I don't wear glasses I cant see the target at all but I can line the sights up ok.
But with them the target is perfect, but the rear sight is almost an unusable blur and the front sight is marginally better.
I know the sight are not supposed to be focused on but I can't imagine they should be almost unusable.
And I can't for the life of me focus on the front sight, no matter how hard I try.

Hey folks, just wanted to give everyone an update as I had said I would. The procedure itself was rather interesting but not really anything painful etc...The worst was the pressure from when the secure the eye to cut the flap. Check up the next day (Sat) had me reading at 20/20 in each eye, and 20/15 together My contacts were -4 in each eye if that gives any of ya'll a better idea...My eyes have bounced back and fourth alittle bit on the days since, more so if they get a little dry, though I really havent had a problem with any dry eyes except for minor discomfort right after the procedure. Just did what they said, go home and sleep several hours and you should be fine with the drops....I have 3 different eye drops to take for another week or so (til they run out) 3 times a day, so that keeps things pretty wet itself. As to any problems...Beyond the above I have just a touch of sensitivity to bright lights, and the sun. Less with each day...I think it was because I wore the sunglasses they gave me alot the first couple of days.

As to the results...I havent gone to the range yet, but with the big change in distance vision I have noticed that by putting a target out in the yard and dry firing, everything is much clearer and a bit easier...The clarity due to the astigmatism is much better as well and allows the sights and target to be more crisp, though it varies alittle depending on what time of the day etc. The Dr said the first week or so afterward everything will vary back and forth a bit but then stabilize. When I go shoot in another week or so, I expect things to continue as they did during my dry-fire practice...

I have had XS big dot sights on my duty pistol the last few several years due to the big front sight, but now I think I will go back to regular 3 dot trijicon now...I have 3 dots on my off duty which I was going to change til now....I find I see them better and probably more accurately then the XS where I have the Big dot up front and a shallow V at the rear. I will decide for sure after I go to the range.

All in all, as things are now I would do it over again. Please understand, we all know each of us are different, but these have been my observations and experience with this so far.

It is not if you will develop presbyopia, it is when you develop presbyopia.

Keep your eyes lubricated after LASIK. Use the drops at least four times per day especially awakening and before bed.
