Get another 22lr or 9mm

I would recommend moving up from a accurate 22 to a accurate 9mm 1911 such as the STI Spartan.
Good sights, good trigger, good 1911 platform, and its a gun to be proud of and it will hold its value.

No matter what, get something with good target sights instead of the combat types.

I try to shoot about once a month usually about 200 rounds 9MM.

Have you had any training by a good pistol instructor?? If not i HIGHLY recommend you look at that BEFORE choosing a pistol. Most ranges offer such services for not much money and are well worth the investment learning proper stance, grip, trigger control, etc AND help choose your preference between hammer fired and striker fired pistols once you understand advantages/disadvantages of each.

Then try out pistols that interest you. Even though you say you don't want to CCW that may change. I can't CCW for work either but I do outside of work.

Lot and lost of good choices in pistols. SIG SP2022 is another great reasonably priced option.

Though I love my metal frame SIGs, if I could have only one center fire pistol it would probably be a lighter weight compact poly frame pistol that can be great for CCW and range use. IMHO pistols such as the Walther PPQ/P99, HK VP9, and SIG P320C excel in that category.

Get both! Yes you can. Any CZ-75 pattern pistols can accept the excellent CZ Kadet Kit .22LR conversion unit. Get a 9MM 75B, and then get the Kadet Kit. You can swap slides in a minute, and shoot both rounds. They are accurate, and reliable. Now you just have to find .22LR at a decent price.

I doubt you'd regret buying a Turkish clone of the CZ 75. I know that Cajun Gun Works offers upgrades for the Canik (sometimes branded Tristar) clones should you ever desire to enhance the action.

How about eaa sar b6p?

As I said before, I really like mine. It's a nice compromise as far as size, as it is full size but it is a smaller framed full size handgun. If you want to consider carry as an option, the B6P is probably doable and there is also the B6P compact. A close relative is the SAR K2P. It has a full size grip and a compact slide, and also comes with adjustable sights and an ambidextrous safety.

In your situation, I would go with a 9mm.

Guns I'd consider in your price range include the Sig Sauer P320, the CZ 75B, the Ruger SR9c or possibly the Sig Sauer SP2022.

That being said, I would also be considering a used or opening price point 1911 such as a RIA in .45, but that is me.

I always warm up with a 22 first. You've got that covered.

If there are still Beretta police trade-ins out there for $300, that is a great deal for a quality 9mm.

The Canik/Tristar CZ clones are $300-something. Get a full-sized steel framed one and you will be pleasantly surprised by the mild recoil.

If it were me I would go for a 4" 357 first, and then go for a 9mm for handgun #3, but I am old school like that.

Oooo, Oooo, go to Buds Gun Shop online for a Zastava 70A 9mm AND a police trade-in S&W 38 special. You could get them BOTH for just barely over $500 total! ($200 even plus $319.)
