Georgia TFL shoot 4/8/2000 @ Hot Shots

Hi ya, I too have been bitten by the "black hole of the web" that sucked down some of my posts.

I am planning on being there Saturday at 3:00pm.

Does anyone have a link to Wolf Creek?

See Ya'll soon,
DaHaMac

Hey, Rainbow Six, where are you at??? I grew up in Douglasville & this week I'm moving right up the road to Dallas (Ga.). And I'd love to run through the sim at Wolf Creek (I haven't been there in years - since before it was Wolf Creek).

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make April 8th - it's moving day :).

Beginner barbarians probably had the idea that every house they broke into would be full of untouched loot and frightened, unarmed victims. It just doesn't work that way, my friend.

I hope these evil men come to understand our peaceful ways soon - My trigger finger is blistering!

Ummm, do we know who all is going to be at Hot Shots tomorrow? I was wondering if anybody from South Ga was going to be there.

Anyways, George please move this here thread to Lock'n'Load. Thanks. There is also an old South GA thread in the General Forum.

Danger Dave,

I was born and raised in the thriving metropolis of Temple, Ga. ;) E-mail me sometime when you want to go and if I'm off work we can meet at Wolf Creek and shoot the sim. I haven't used it yet but I want to soon.

Let me know,

R6

Well, I'll be there for sure. I'll be wearing a bright red Atlanta Falcon's cap. I'll wait to go on the range until we get a few people rounded up.

Don't move this thread... nobody ever looks at Lock 'N Load... I know I NEVER did. This is where you need to go to get exposure.

I had an awsome time today. Shot my first revolver: 44 Mag. HOLY CRAP!!! The recoil wasn't bad at all... but the flash/BANG is something unforgetable. It was like the target was taking an up-close picture of me. I had NO IDEA how much more accurate a revolver was compared to my Ruger P-95. A revolver is DEFINITELY my next purchase. I think I'll get rid of the Beretta Jetfire and get a Taurus 605 instead. I also shot my first 1911 (ouch)... the recoil was much more harsh than the medium-load 44 Mag SA Ruger. I also got a chance to shoot a Glock 31 (I think). That was sweet. Shot a couple of Kahr MK-40's as well. This is a MUCH better (and cheaper) way to try out different guns than renting.

Thanx to everyone who showed up: DaHaMac, Jim R, Rainbow Six, Killer45Auto, DaddyCat, etc.

This was by far my favorite range session. Next time @ Wolf Creek. You guys were right about Hot Shots being an extremely friendly place.

Thanx for a great day,
Ben

Ben:

Hey! There's nothing wrong with your P95 regarding accuracy, and I've got a target with 15 holes in it in my range bag to prove it! That thing shot very nicely.

Seriously, that was fun, and hope we can do another one soon. Besides Wolf Creek, one of the other guys was going to check to see if there are any Wildlife Management Areas with ranges near the metro area. Apparently some of the ones further out have ranges.

Thanks for getting things rolling on this!

It was fun. I really enjoyed meeting you guys. I hope we can do this fairly regularly in the future. Even if there is no group shoot planned, if any of you are headed to Hot Shots or Wolf Creek and want someone to shoot with, just let me know. I will try to make it.

Ben,

I was going to let you shoot my Ruger .357 revolver but, as you probably already know, a squibb load lodged a bullet about half way down the bore and ended my day early. Maybe next time you'll get to put a few rounds through it if you want.

Daddycat,

Thanks for letting me try out your G30. Schweeeet shooting little piece! Now I want one. :)

As for Wolf Creek, everyone please see my post in the lock & load forum.

Rainbow six, nice meeting you as well. Hope your SP101 cleans up ok. Thanks for letting me take a turn with it. Glad you liked the G30, its my wifes piece. I'm waiting to get my Springfield Compact back from Wilsons.

Geez, you mean you guys went shooting when you could have been helping me move? Thanks a lot, guys! :)

I'm going to check out the lock & load forum - I hope to make a shoot at Wolf Creek. I haven't been there since it was X-Calibre..
