Funny how handgun taste can change

For me it was revolvers to begin with. That was about 40 years ago. I had several S&Ws and Colt revolvers. (It's been so long ago that I can't even remember the models.)

Then I was on an Auto Pistol kick for several years. I bought a Springfield 1911A1 and had it for awhile then sold it. Then I bought more revolvers. I was into the cowboy action thing until I realized that unless I reloaded I just couldn't afford it.

Then I was all about CC guns. I bought a S&W642 and had it for awhile then sold it and bought a Ruger LCP. And now, I wish I would have kept the 642.

So now, I'm very ammo sensitive. I sold my Ruger Super Redhawk and kept my Ruger Blackhawk .357 simply because I hated lugging around that heavy monster. But, now I miss it.

So, I just bought a S&W 28-2 and love it. I'm still buying autos but I think I'm going to weed down my considerable collection to just a few that I absolutely can't live without.

You'd probably be surprised to know that one of "those" guns is my old, trusty Ruger P89.

Before I actually got into shooting, I liked the "modern" hangduns, like Glocks, HKs, etc. After I got down to shooting them, I realized that I can't stand polymer-framed guns. They just don't feel right to me. I much prefer metal frames. I've always been a fan of semi-autos and never given revolvers the time of day, but I'm really liking the S&W Model 29s. Plus, I'm considering acquiring my first 1911, so that could open a whole other can of worms. :p I think that tastes do change and evolve naturally over time, but variety is part of the fun.
