This incident goes to show that most folks are not going to be forewarned (or not by much) of emminent potentially lethal danger. I can understand the desire to have a minor caliber pocket pistol at all times, as it is easy and comfortable to carry everywhere. Nevertheless, if it is ever needed, as here; would the guy mowing the lawn thank God that he at least had that .32 pocket pistol? Or do you think he would wish that he had the option to use at least a 9mm?
I'm glad that things worked out as they did. It sounds as if he handled the situation very well...even if he had possessed a firearm.
Second point: These "reasonable" gun laws that the gun community has allowed to occur over the past few generations eventually leads to innocent lives being lost. What if the BG had demanded to go inside and check for valuables while the wife was fiddelling w/a guvmint mandated trigger lock? We could go on and on w/possible scenarios, but the main issues concerning criminal confrontations are:
1. Always be prepared, because things happen when least expected.
2. There is no such thing as a "reasonable" gun law. They're results enable criminals to commit crimes against the innocent. They also rape the innocent of their God-given liberty to self preservation.
PS: I guess I'm preaching to the choir again. I also need to practice what I preach....ie. #1.
