Business as usual - cowardly politicians make a mockery of the U.S.

The United States has failed to capture Osama bin Laden, although it captured other key al Qaeda operatives.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is completely and totally inexcusable. The U.S. Government knows where he is - hiding in the mountains of Pakistan along the border shared with Afghanistan; our military has Predator drones watching Bin Laden's location 24/7/365.

When we were attacked on 9-11, "W" proclaimed, "Either you are with us or against us." Pakistan knows where Bin Laden is hiding, too. The fact is, Pakistan is sheltering him; what else would you expect from a Muslim government??

Pakistan has had ample time to turn over Bin Laden and has refused to do so. IMHO, "W" owes it to the murdered victims of 9-11, their families, and the rest of We The People to send troops in to Pakistan and bring Bin Laden out, dead or alive.

Bin Laden is living free and laughing at the United States as we speak; so is the "government" of Pakistan. IMHO, this has got to stop - NOW. The U.S. military should be given the word to go get Bin Laden and kill whoever gets in their way.

With AC-130 gunships, Predator drones, cruise missles, F-14's, F-15's, F-16's, F-18's, F-117's B-1's, B-2's, SEALs, Delta Force, Force Recon, Air Commandos and all the other rescourses we have at our disposal, American causalties would be minimal. Don't even think that the U.S. military is not up to the task.

The missing piece of the puzzle is balls - our elected "leaders" do not have the integrity or the courage to give the order, plain and simple.

Their cowardice makes a mockery of the United States and is a slap in the face to those who died in the 9-11 attacks and their families.

And by the way, yes it bothers me; it should bother every American who pays taxes which support our cowardly "leaders."

Terrorism is the extreme use of violence to get governmental ententies and the population to chnge its direction or policies.

Terrorism is usually performed by persons in the minority against the majority when they feel that words and the exchange of information leave them in a position without hope. In the case of Islam it a merging of hate and religion.

The leaders recruit those who feel they have no hope for a normal future.
They can be well educated or illeterate. Without any hope for a normal future a man is willing to die for his cause. Hate is a powerful force that consumes the person and the person he hates. I have held the power of hate in my heart and it will consume you in the end. It leaves you numb and without feelings for anything else. Luckily with the help of some good folks I learned to let it go. The merging of hate and religon is a potent force that will let a man do anything without regard for other people.

How do we hope to win the "war on terrorism" when countries who are our allies such as Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi, Jordan are authoritarian police states that are the breeding grounds for terrorism?

If we wish to eridicate terrorism we must first get rid of the breeding grounds. You can not defeat an idea with strictly military force.

The War on Terrorism is far from over and may be one which our sons and daughters will be fighting unless we cure the cause.

Do you have a source for this information?

If it is a fact, then you must have proof. Care to share it with the class?

One thing missing from that list of assets is reliable intelligence on his whereabouts. Lack of intelligence costs lives.

And invading Iraq with minimal international support didn't take cahones? Our leaders obviously have the courage to employ the forces under their control. I maintain that we do not know bin Laden's whereabouts and that is why he is still at large. Again, I invite you to supply the proof that our government knows bin Laden's location and is just toying with him for some reason...

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I don't buy the idea that Musharraf would hide Osama for a second. Osama's people have tried to kill Musharraf numerous times. If there's anything I think Musharraf would do, it's snap at the chance to take down bin Laden.

The issue is, Waziristan is only nominally part of Pakistan, and it would take a fully-fledged, brigade/divisonal sized force (at least) and no doubt heavy fighting to assert central government authority there. Any attempt to do so, could well cause that central government to collapse.

Great link to Waziristan. I find it plausable that OBL could be in a region like that. Political nightmare and possible civil war for Pakistan if they choose to blitz in there. I bet they want our army on their soil as bad as we want them on our soil.

Special Op - job after lots of intel.
