For all you Savage haters

Snyper-9 out 0f 10 that buy Savage- get with the program here.
Still waiting to hear your story???? We all want to hear what you base your Vast expirence on???

I will give you mine. I have owned many different brand name rifles, many shot very well, but not as good as the Savages. That is why I switch to all Savage.I also( for the last 4 years now ) have been sighting in other peoples deer rifles. This year alone was about 23 or more. Most ( not all) but most will not group as well as a Savage. That compounded with over 35 years of shooting with last 4 now being comp shooting is what I base my opinion on. Now lets hear yours.

Great value...and accuracy.

The 43.5 of Varget and the 175/180 SMK seems to be an almost universal sweet spot. It is the accuracy load for three rifles of ours- a DPMS LR-308, a Savage Hunter, and one of my Mosin-Nagants (with the 174, .311 SMK-which is the same as the 175 for all intents and purposes).

My younger son just selected a similar rifle to yours for his graduation present- the Savage 110 FCP-HS Precision, in .338 Lapua Magnum.

Good accuracy is one-half of the reason I prefer Savage. The other, is the ability to re-barrel and change chamberings if desired without a months long wait for a smith to do it.

The fanboys, like I said in the beginning

9 of 10 Hi-Point owners claim they are as good as anything else too.

If you have some actual data that proves Savage is more accurate, feel free to provide it.

Snyper- Still waiting for your response. You claim to have first hand knowledge- Lets hear it. My claim is self proven by testimonials by Savage owners that had prevoiusly owned other brand rifles.
I think all in here would like to hear what you have to say. You keep avoiding the question. Could it be you have nothing?.
I and the rest here will kick back and wait for you to answer the question that you keep avoiding to answer.

If you want him to provide evidence, then you need to do the same.

Demanding that he support his side of the argument while you sit back and expect everyone to assume that your side is correct is a poor stance to take.

Right now, you're doing exactly what you're accusing him of doing.
It's a mix of faulty generalizations and ad hominem...

I can't stand the way my $275 axis looks. And it REALLY bothers me that it shoots like this
Darn it! drat! Not pretty at all!

I, and many, many others, especially those who shoot groups in competitions, do not use three shots as a standard. So, I cannot relate or compare your "group" to my rifles...unless of course that is a five-shot group. If it is not, please shoot a five shot group and post it so that we have a basis for evaluation and marvel over your rifle's accuracy.

Franken -Read post #43. I never once claimed or stated I have technical date. I clearly posted what my and where my opinion came from. This is all I ask of him, but he has yet to do it. I do no technical Data due to many reasons, main one being I have no Idea how to do it. I have my own shooting data ( apparently most who shoot Savage have same opinion). I also stated that I sight in many rifles every year ( more and more each year as my name gets around). So with all this real life experience I have come to my conclusion. Technical-No- Real life-Yes. Furthermore- Not that it makes a difference, but I also shoot F-Class and You yourself should know as you would want the same- I want the best bang for my buck doing it-Short of a custom made rifle for $5000.00. Which I can not afford. So having tested many brand name rifles in many different calibers, my testing showed Savage on the norm out shot most other brand names. This is MHO. It is not the law. Your tests might be different and That is great for you.
You also want the best bang for your buck as everyone does.
All I am asking of him is to state his opinion in more than just the simpleton answers he has been, he has not been able to do that yet.

I did not nor do I work for Savage, My Favorite rifle in the world has always been Wetherby,(sp). Beautiful rifles, now I really want a Cooper, I did not own any Savages till about 4 years ago. I got a Edge and was so very Impressed with it's accuracy that I went to a 223 in the FVSS, same thing, then the 308 in a FVSS. I started buying them because of their accuracy only.

Three shots are not a "group"...they are a "few".
If the Bible is the literal, infallible, unerring word of God...where are all those witches I am supposed to kill? (Exodus 22:18)
It's actually 4 shots--less than .3 MOA at 100. I've shot many other great groupings with the same rifle. You say not convincing unless 5 shots--OK then, I say your's are not convincing unless 10 shots! Take that!

This thread is just another version of the age-old "is to--is not" wee match the fan boys and anti-fanboys so love to get into to. It doesn't matter one bit to me what the nay-sayer dissers say or think cause I have em and they shoot well for me--and nothing from the poo-pooer peanut gallery is going to change that or my opinion--just as nothing I say or do is going to change their (your) opinion.

But it does provide entertainment so I guess it will go on forever. : )

As the OP I figured I'd get a rise out of a few people but the title of the thread was meant as a little light hearted humor not an insult. No I'm no fanboy of any one particular brand of gun and yes I know that Savage it considered more of an entry level gun. I guess I was just a little tickled because for one when hunting, dead is dead not matter how pretty your rifle is or isn't. So even though it doesn't have a pretty Walnut stock or deep glossy bluing to me it performs better than I expected. I know just about every off the shelf rifle these days is capable of MOA or close to it but I wasn't expecting to find it on the first try. For me at $600 this rifle was a bargain. With the heavy fluted barrel I can shoot off the bench without having to wait too long between shots because the barrel got too hot, the 24" barrel will help with the needed velocity for longer range targets, its 10 round magazine feeds surprisingly smooth, and weighing in at 9 pounds its not too terribly heavy to carry in the field.

Edit, I forgot to mention, that Accutrigger is pretty sweet too.
