Food store robbery in progress - you're there.

Excellent point. Nobody but my wife and a few friends know about my CHL. I took great pains to make sure of it. I have lots of acquaintances who are brainwashed by the anti-gun media, and they just wouldn't understand (I'm trying). I also don't want them getting me killed if their sudden pro-gun enlightenment coincides with an assault, carjacking, or robbery when I happen to be present. I don't want to get ventilated by some bottom-feeder if I can possibly help it.

What if:
- the bad guys had armed accomplices among the innocent-appearing spectators?
- there were LEOs in civvies who just happened to be there? How would they sort out which team you're on?
- some lesser-trained dummy pulled his gun and started to shoot? Who is he? Which side is he on? etc.

Having been in this situation with my two daughters in a Best products store, my job was to keep my kids safe. We lit out for the back of the store, jumped the counter, and hid out in the supply room next a fire exit until the situation was resolved. Yes, we were prepared to run some more if anyone came into the supply room. (Big room perhaps 100x60 ft)

If I'm present where a felon is waving a weapon, I'm not going to stand around waiting for him to notice and point it at me. I'm going to take a solid stance from behind the best cover available, and cap him. Repeatedly.
