First time mounting scope.

I've been extremely pleased with the Talley Lightweight Scope Rings. The bases are integral to the bottom rings. I have them on three 700s, a 70, and a Savage 16. Around 42 at Midway, but I bought my last pair for 32 on sale.
 
I've been extremely disappointed with the Millett (Ruger) rings I had. I have all the stuff for mounting scopes, the allignment pointed tubes, etc and when I tightened them in perfect center position with both rings perfectly lined up, the front ring tilted forward ever so slightly and marked up my scope. I have Leupolds on it now.
 
In the motorcycle world, BSA stands for Bast**d Stopped Again. You saying the scopes might not be consistent in quaility?
