Today I purchased my very first ever CZ handgun. I went with the CZ 75 P-07 model and got it out the door for $407.00 w/ tactical rail light. Have been reading lots of positive reviews about the CZ line of handguns and decided it was about time to see for myself what the rave was all about...!

Just my opinion, but if you really want to see what the CZ Hype is all about, try shooting one of their metal guns like the 75 or P-01 models. I have never been all that impressed with their polymer guns, but I also recognize that's a personal bias (I hate polymer pistols) and that they are known to have a great reputation

That's funny you would say that because I really wanted my first CZ to be the P-01 model but I just can not find one in my area, even tried to order one but they said they would be on Backorder for a while...... so I did my review homework and went with the P-07 for now...

I'm with Dakota on this one. Try the traditional steel, or alloy framed CZ variants for the "real deal". If I were to ever get a polymer pistol (not likely), it would be a CZ. Probably a Phantom due to the more traditional CZ grip, and grip angle. CZ changed this on the P-07, and P-09, although, I don't know why.

I'll agree with Mr Potts comments on the steel frames.

Just my comparison of a cz p-07/kadet
And a cz 85 combat single action/kadet.

For range use, the 85 is my choice, better feel in my hands, better balance, better trigger, better kadet kit accuracy.

For a general use best compromise carry, range, and plinker 22, at a good cost/value ratio the p-07.

They are both good but for diffrent uses,

I have the P07 as well. You will not be disappointed. As mentioned by others I too prefer the standard 75 grip angle.

I have a CZ-85B and it is my favorite pistol. I too ended up buying the P07 because I couldn't get a P01.

I did like the feel of the P-07 in my hand, the beavertail really supports your hand....., I went back twice to the store and handled the CZ before buying it....

Welcome to the family. I used to say that CZ was the best kept secret in the gun world... but it's not much of a secret anymore.

If you're a hunter, try some CZ rifles too. Dreamy.

My one and only CZ is an all steel 2075. And I do love it.

I'd wanted a p-07 (have a 09 and 75) but I'll be waiting on the 10 c now. Don't really have much use for a gun the size of the 10 but I still want one.

Like many I'd love to find a sp-01 tactical.

I have the SP-01 and CZ97. Both have been worked by CZ custom shop that is nearby. Great guns and they run fine. You will probably notice if you field strip one, they are not very well finished internally. What NEEDS to be machined is machined and what doesn't is left alone. It does tend to make the gun look ugly, but it does NOT affect performance. Those suckers run as well as anything I own. They just don't look cool like a Sig. . .nor do they cost as much.

I think you would be happy with one or more:D

HistoryJunky, I love the gun. I have never had any kind of failures with it. Fired FMJ and hollow points with no problems. I have never held a 75 so I can't answer the grip question. My little finger ends up under the magazine on this one, but I have fairly large hands. It is a pretty small gun.

sounds like you got a great deal! if you dont mind me asking where did you find that deal?

Also I recently purchased a cz p07 because I found such a good deal and my search for a p01 in urban grey was coming up empty. I have an sp01 urban grey tactical that is my favorite gun I own. I put a cajun gun works pro kit on it and a tlr-1hl and its pretty much perfect! :)

Back to my original point... The p07 is one of the best pistols out there regardless of price. Though I love the metal cz's I learned to shoot on a glock 19, the p07 was a smooth transition from the glock into a da/sa carry gun. I love it! I think you will too!

It's a shame you've never held a 75. IMO they have the most comfortable grip of any handgun.

I was looking at the RAMI a little more and am a little sad it doesn't have an ambi safety.

Welcome to the family!!! I use gunbroker to get guns I can't get here and use my LGS for the transfer(20 bucks whoop whoop!).

This is my CZ 75 PCR. My Cajun Gun Works pro carry package will be here tomorrow and installed Saturday. Can't friggin wait!

If you're wondering. That's straight eight night sights from CZ custom, aluminum grips from CGW and matte stainless base plates from ppdbillet.
