Oneounce, so far I haven't had a parts problem with Ithaca, in addition Ithaca's don't break that often.

I didn't when I had mine made about 1980 or so either, just adding something that the OP needs to be aware of if he is looking into getting an older used 37.... 
The OP said he won't be hunting. IMHO, the I-37 is off the list. During my wayward days, shooting ATA trap, there were some competitors using pump guns for singles. They were typically high grade model 12s, but you'd see an occasional Wingmaster. The only Ihtacas I encountered were hinge guns.
