First Rifle?

I shot several of my dad's guns as a kid but the first I bought myself was a Remington 870 express and then I bought a Chinese SKS a week later. That was 10 years ago and I'm proud to say that I still have them both plus a more to keep them company in my safe.

First rifle I owned was a Savage Mdl. 24 .22LR/.410 over-under. It was a hand-me-down from my older brother; I think I was 13 or 14.

First rifle I bought was a new Colt Sporter Match HBAR. I got it after shooting a friend's.

I still have both.

First rifle owned was a Marlin 336. Served well for a number of years, but I eventually sold it as I'm not a fan of the .30-30 cartridge.

First rifle I bought was a new Remington Model 7 in .308. Wanted a hunting accurate, carbine length bolt action for eastern whitetail. Still gets more field use than my other rifles, with the possible exception of the .22LRs.

Glenfield/Marlin model 75--basically the same as the model 60. It had a 4x scope and was deadly to every aluminum can it met. I started shooting it when I was 9 or 10. Still shooting it today.

My First

My first rifle was an inheireted Winchester 69A .22. That rifle went everywhere with me.;)
The first rifle that I bought was a Savage 24V O/U .30-.30 over 20ga. Needed a rifle and a shotgun and I didn't have a lot of money at the time, so this one served two purposes. I could go small game hunting with it and I could hunt deer with it.
I still have them both ;)

The first rifle I bought was a Marlin Mdl 60 when I was 18 back in 1984. The next rifle I bought was an IBM M-1 Carbine.

My first rifle was a Remington 552 "Speedmaster" .22 rimfire rifle given to me one Christmas by my dad sometime in my teenage years back in the mid-80s. The first centerfire rifle I ever bought was a new Chinese SKS carbine in 1992, which introduced me to the joy of cosmoline. :barf:

I still have both guns, in addition to a Rem. 700BDL in .30-06 and a 10/22 for the wife. The 10/22's a nice gun, and my brother built one up into a sweet tack-driver, but there's still something about that trusty ol' 552 that I don't get from the 10/22.

Remington 1100 20ga for my 9th or 10th birthday. Soon swapped for my Grandfathers Auto 5 which is still going strong.

Marlin 336 in 35 Reminton was the first I bought when I was 15 or so.

S&W 686 6" 357 when I was 18.

A whole bunch more of every shape and model since then.

The first rifle I bought was a 1954 Russian SKS. Foolishly I sold that a couple of years later. By the grace of God(or fate, or luck, whatever you are more comfortable with), the guy I sold it to let me buy it back.

First rifle I bought when I was 18 was a Remington 760 Game Master .243 with a Redfield 3X9 Accutrack scope, 2 mags, and 2 boxes of ammo for $180.00. The rifle had only been fired about 10 times, and the scope was still in the box, brand new. I priced everything out, And I figured I got over $800.00 worth of weapon for $180......Great deal and I still have it :D

The first rifle I acquired was given to me by my grandfather when I was about 10. It was a Remington single shot bolt action 22 long rifle. No scope, just open sights, and once you got it figured out, look out !!I could shoot field mice early in the morning at about 50-75 yards....One shot, One kill !!!! Still got that one too:D

My "First Rifle" was a Marlin-Glenfield Model 25...bolt-action .22 for Christmas at age 15...a year later, I bought a Winchester Model 670A in .30-06...for $129.95, complete w/Weaver 4x scope!!! THAT'S been a while ago....mikey357

First rifle I ever owned was a Ruger 10/22 given to me by my father.

First rifle I ever bought was a FrankeN-FAL kit.

I still own both, and still shoot both regularly, though the FAL's had some replacement parts (comes with the territory of getting a parts gun)

My first rifle was/is a Winchester Mod57 purchased by my Dad in the early 30's. He still has it. This little rifle has been shot by 4 generations of my family. It looks about like what a rifle that's been shot by that many kids _should_ look like...Well used, and still accurate.:)
