First pix of the 24-3...

I'm not sure if this is going to work or not, as I'm having issues with the digital camera and the set up was VERY fast and dirty.

Better pix -- hopefully -- to come.

But, that's the new 24-3, circa 1983.

The box of Winchester .44 Spl. cartridges there is unopened, circa 1915 to 1920, I believe.

I have 3 of those, plus one box that has broken open, which is where the cartridges not in the speedloader came from.

Really nice, Mike.

Good photo too!

(note to self.....you don't need one of these, you don't need one of these)..........must resist....must.....

;)

Nice.
Nice pic too. Bout nailed the exposure on the gun. (18 percent reflective background ? )

Patridge front sight is really nice for tack drivin.

Thanks for showin the pic Mike.

Sam

18 percent reflective background?

Duh?

If by that you mean "Old Bath Towel for a backdrop" then yes, 18 percent reflective background. :)

Oh, and what's behind the bath towel?

The stuff that looks like gold flecked smoked mirrors?

It's gold flecked smoked mirrors.

It's the "disco hell wall" in my living room (actually the dining nook, but I don't use it for that).

I've been wanting to get rid of it for years, but that's going to be the job from hell. Those mirrors are glued on, and taking them off is going to fill the house with glass shards.

I'm thinking the dogs may have to go to my parents for a week while I take care of that.

I figure when I do that, the carpet's coming up and going out at the same time.

Why am I telling you all this?

Because setting up in front of those mirrors was the only place that I didn't get REALLY weird reflections on the gun...

Thanks, Frency.

I'm going to do a "family photo" here in a bit, I think.

All of the S&Ws, or as many as I can fit into the frame and still get a decent pic.

The Model 19 2.5" is in Pennsylvania, though, unfortunatly.

AH YES THE SMITH M24-3 44 SPECKLE IS A COOL SIXGUN.

GOT ONE OF THOSE MYSELF BUT WITH THE BAUGHMAN RAMP FRONT SIGHT, PLUS A SPARE 44/40 CYLINDER THAT ACTUALLY SHOOTS MUCH BETTER THAN THE 44SPL CYLINDER. [ WHOOPS, DAMN CAPS...]
Actually it's the second one of these I've had as SMITH had to replace my original back in '83 due to a cracked frame. They'd torqued the barrel in too tight and done busted it. The new one came back with a Fran Longtin action job that may be the last he ever did; it's a peach! But it is also the snootiest 44SPL I have ever seen. Unless you load it up to near 44MAG numbers it is just a noisy slingshot except for two loads I finally isolated.
As per usual, the first one shot great with everything but i couldn't sight it in since the barrel pointed off towards Robin Hood's barn.
And so it goes...

Get that towel back to the bathroom before the wife sees it, Mike. I can see it now, "Honey, why does this towel smell like gun oil?"

Mike - I stand forthrightly corrected and am justifiably chagrined. I feel the same way about my first wife; the second is another matter altogether. We have been together for over 20 years, and she bought me a NIB Colt SAA P1840 for Christmas. Now that's a woman to love and cherish!

WOW

Now that looks like fun.

Note to self: I need one of those. I must not resist !
Answer to self: Who is resisting ? Of course you need one.

Very cool.

Those Blazer 200-grain Gold Dots work well.

You have a very nice revolver there. Congratulations. I love my 624 3".

Mike
Great looking gun and you did good. What's the old saying?
"I miss my EX, but my aim is getting better every day!"
